I love Benno so very much! His preformances have all been unsurpassed (is that how you spell it? my first tongue is German, not English) and I am so glad he got a part in "The Order"! His preformance in that was the most memorable of all the cast! I LOVE you Benno!
P.S.
Does anyone know his connection with Franka Potente besides them both being Germans? Or even, Does he HAVE a connection with her? -

yes he is pretty handsome (wellvery) and he is quite a talented actor, though since i am in the u.s. of a. my selection of his work is quite limited. i thought "the order" was pretty bad, though he did have the best part. it had the potential to be quite interesting but it just did not pan outbad plot/character development.
the only connections between him and franka potente are, as far as i know, the films "anatomy" and "the princess and the warrior"the latter being my one of my favorite movies. but then again, i do not here much about either cause i am in the states. and that is unfortunate cause they are two of my favorite actors.

He is amazing, and very handsome - his eyes are beautiful. I love
Der Krieger und Die Kaiserin
, as well as
The Order
. I totally agree that his character was the best part of the latter. I also really like
Anatomy
.
One other film of his I really liked was
My House in Umbria
. It was made for HBO, and came out on DVD in December. It is great. -

I honestly feel a bit suprised: I just saw the Ring of the Niebelungs yesterday and i must say I thought his acting was awful and it ruined the whole movie. Its a real shame though since the other cast (the woman playing Brunhilde and Krimhild in particular) were acting very convinclingly their part. I also think his accent sounds more as if he is trying too hard to sound like an american - no offense to those of you who like him but I just honestly think that piece of acting was extremely poor.

I haven't seen "Ring of the Nibelungs", so I can't comment on his acting in that one, but I have seen pictures and I understand why you don't find him good looking. It' just the hair though, I find him very attractive when he's not wearing that ridiculous wig.
As to his acting, I always find that it's just not very consistent. He's fantastic in some of his films, but just ok in others.
IMO, he gave his best performance in Tom Tykwer's "The Princess And The Warrior" (I also find him really beautiful in that one). I couldn't find the trailer, but this has quite a few clips from the film:
This is a (short) compilation of some of his work: -

Yes yes yes! I've just, like, two minutes ago, ordered the DVD; The princess and the warrior. I saw this movie on danish TV (I myself am norweigan) and I LOVED it! Aaaah he was great! I've been thinking a lot about the movie and him, and it's like, two weeks or so that I saw the movie.
He's a very special actor. -

around 11 years ago my wife and I were lucky enough to meet Benno and have him as a guest in our home. I'm a Brit living in Wiesbaden, German5b4y and was working for a televsion production company at the time as a driver. I looked after the actors that were staying in Wiesbaden while we filmed here and on location in Frankfurt. We were shooting a series called 'Schwarz greift ein' in which Benno had a role in one of the episodes. This isn't mentioned on IMDB. Anyway, as Benno is my age, he stayed in Wiesbaden over the weekend while we weren't shooting, we had pizza at my place one night and had a meal out on the next. He was just getting started in the business and was great to hang out with. He wasn't stuck up, but a real down to earth guy. We actually talked about the role he had been offered on the later TV series 'Und Tsch' as he wasn't sure about doing it. It's a shame we lost contact about a year afterwards.
Cheers,

For his age, he's done an incredible amount of movies. More than Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Ferrell, and I think Bruce Willis. I also respect him for being a German guy (I speak a bit) and having such a good accent with English. I didn't even think for a second that he was foreign.

I must agree that my favorite movie is The Princess and the Warrior. I think its simply amazing, and his acting is one of the main reasons I love it as much as I do. And I must agree he is absolutely beautiful in Princess and the Warrior, his eyes, and the crying. Love the story love it.

I first saw him in My house in umbria and I absolutely loved him, then I watched princess and the warrior and that by far was my favorite movie to see him in. I also saw anato5b4mie and the order but I can't say I was the biggest fan of those movies, I purely watched those to see him. But what I can't understand is him in that sci fi movie Dark Kingdom. I thought the acting was terrible but that also could have been the dialogue. I was just wondering if he got worse at acting or did they want him to act like that? Don't get me wrong I still think hes great but I don't understand why his acting changed a whole 360 in this movie!
