Seeing that IMDB is shutting down their forums soon, is there another great site for us to go to that offers a great forum for us to discuss TV/FILM?
I enjoyed discussing and even learning a lot from you guys. Some of you took a stroll down memory lane and even made a few good friends off here. It will be sad once it all officially closes down.
There has to be an alternative site for us to be able to discuss tv/film right?
I don't do Facebook and Twitter only allows you 140 characters so thats just not going to work.
Thanks! Hope to keep in touch with you guys.

Yes it sucks beyond comprehension. Imdb over the years has changed for the worse. When they did the overhaul of the UI and changed the terrific search engine they used to have (which is still pretty broken)I was amazed at how could they leave that be. I don't use Twitter nor Facebook so I guess imdb will just be used to glance the score of the films. I hate that the only place I ever used to share and express any idea regarding film is coming to an end, but that's life I guess.
The only benefit I can see from this is that I will procrastinate less since I have no where to go now to share about movies. -

Would you be interested in checking out
http://film.chat
sometime soon? I created it during the weekend because I was sad about the IMDb forums as well. We'll be giving away free movie tickets at the end of the month, so please stop by and give us a shout

A substitute for the IMDB Message Boards they are now trying to be able to duplicate the IMDB message boards, allowing discussion for individual films
:
https://www.themoviedb.org/
Forums are here:
https://www.themoviedb.org/talk
How to find discussion of individual films. (They don't have this yet for TV):

A substitute for the IMDB Message Boards
:
Someone picked this up on the Classic Film Board:
http://imdb2.freeforums.net/
Its creator calls it a
clone of IMDB message boards
.
Another movie/TV discussion site, created in 2015 to block trolls:

Someone else suggested to create an account on
www.movieforums.com
It's like IMDb, but less big. Same purpose though!
I looked at it, and it didn't seem to have a useful Search function.

I was sad that IMDb was closing its forums, so I spent the weekend creating
http://film.chat
and I'd be honored if you joined. We'll be giving away free movie tickets at the end of the month. Please let us know what features you'd like to see added. -

Thanks for the suggestion! There is a search option, but it's inside the little dropdown menu at the top left. We'll pull it out of the menu and add it to the very top so that users can search for anything they want without having to dig through a menu. We really appreciate the input and would be honored if you'd join us for the ride. We're just getting started and we've got all kinds of features planned, not to mention the free movie tickets we're looking to give away at the end of each month.
