It’s crazy, the first Avatar had a legit marketing campaign and real momentum, I don’t even remember seeing a trailer for this. How tf did it gross 2 billion petrodollars unless it was the only thing playing at the cineplex for 7 week straight?

I had no idea this existed.
It is now shown on French TV station TF1 as New Year's Day afternoon movie, as a re-run from Christmas evening TV show a week earlier.
I watched it for 2 minutes and it looks terrible, cliche already seen for billions of times in countless action movies and it is obviously a brainless plot. -

There were trailers running for what felt like years and clearly it made oodles of dollars. I enjoyed it at the cinema but it wasn't great and I've not thought about it since. It'll be interesting to see how much demand there is for the next film.
I have always depended on the kindness of Strangers - and the bastards let me down!
