I hope not as that's the gross type of incest.

No, but I think he fancied Janet Leigh's character and his "mother" got jealous. Hence, he had to kill the poor girl.

Do you think she was his first kill or were there other victims before her?
I can't remember why but I was under the impression there might have been.

Yes, there were two other victims, both were women who made his "mother" jealous, and of course, he killed his mother and her lover in a jealous rage ten years earlier and then mummified her corpse. It's explained at the end of the film by the psychiatrist.

Did you know it is loosely based on Ed Gein?
                    And so is Texas Chainsaw.

Yes, Norman Bates, Leatherface, Buffalo Bill (from Silence of the Lambs) and Ezra Cobb (a character from the the 1974 film Deranged) are characters loosely based on Ed Gein. Gein, grave-robber and serial killer, was so crazy that he was put in a mental institution instead of prison.

                        No.
I think she was just very controlling.
So much that she drove him mad to where he was in denial of her death and by keeping her alive by pretending to be her.

                            No!
Without strife, your victory has no meaning.
Without strife, you do not advance.
Without strife, there is only stagnation.
