No, I don't agree. Jo was the perfect girl for me, but then again I have a soft spot for blondes!

I think Jo had the typical dim witted blond thing going, that media has told guys they should like. This was exploited more on the American version with the Suzanne Summers character (ironically named Chrissy). Jo of course was much more than that, but because of the hype for blonds, Jo had an advantage over her roommate Chrissy. As for myself though, I would go for Chrissy any day of the week. Like you said she was more mature, I liked her wit and humor, and to me she would be more fun. Both were/are adorable.

Just recently watched the box set of MATH on DVD.
I am old enough to remember the original broadcasts, and I'm just a few years younger than the girls.
I fancied BOTH of the equally I guess, but it often depended on the episode and how they played it. Sometimes it was Chrissy that I was most attracted to and sometimes it was Jo. (Both at the same time was always a fantasy of mine as I'm sure many other boys and men did too):)
Lot of gorgeous girls I remember from the 1970's (especially as I was a horny teenager at that time) Apart from Chrissy and Jo, there was "Sally" from Bless This House and those two adorable blondes ("Karen" and "Anna" I think) from Father Dear Father to name but a few.

I'm going to compare "Man About the House" to "Three's Company" here - referring to Sally versus Suzanne.
The 'Jo' character was more of a "Diamond-in-the-Rough" - she presented with navet and innocence but her comments actually showed an underlying wit and even sarcasm; 'Chrissy' (Suzanne Somers), who was based on 'Jo', was just an airheaded twit whose stupidity was so over-caricaturized that she couldn't even be taken seriously. So 'Jo' all the way here.
As far as 'Chrissy' in "Man." (Paula Wilcox) - I prefer her to Jo because the character was way more developed and milti-faceted. -

You may say that Chrissy in the US is Jo on the UK (and to a point I agree with you), but if you follow the scripts of episodes that are directly based on the original. The US Chrissy is still saying the lines of the original Chrissy.

There's no denying that Jo is lovely, but she looks too much like a little girl. Chrissy has those looks, ridiculously sexy looks. I guess it's those huge eyes. Me and wifey both agree that Chrissy wins hands down.
"Gizza job! I can do that!"
