Omari applied to the police force shortly before her 18th birthday. She completed the two-year training and subsequently worked as an inspector in the field. Then she decided to change the job.
"I worked for the Vienna police for two years and quit so I could now take care of the business at the Saraya Club,"
she explained. She now handles administrative tasks.
"I take care of the individual women's applications and registrations."

The career change wasn't accidental. Her father Fahim Omari leads the brothel. This has its advantages.
"For example, I no longer must work overtime, and it's quicker and easier now to take a vacation."
Her expectations of daily police work weren't met.
"To be honest, I imagined working for the police to be a bit more pleasant. The many overtime hours often made the job quite grueling."
She carefully considered her decision.
"I really thought about it long and hard, and now I look forward to my new role."

Hopefully, the young lady also considered that the police pension system (as for all civil servants) is pretty good;
this prevents rampant corruption.
And we don't need to worry that all police officers will drift into the red-light district,
because very few are likely to have parents who own a brothel.

The training program for aspiring police officers in Austria (as in Germany) is tough.
That must have been her first 'Aha' moment.
And looking at their family name, it doesn't exactly sound Austrian.
There are a few countries where the police have it easy and get a special bonus (bribes).
From this perspective, I can understand why she imagined police work differently.
