Think about these young love situations where a girl meets a guy at a summer camp, or study abroad trip, fall in love, have sex, and then, have to part ways eventually.
Young people can go right into these situations without thinking of the end result. The older you get, you don't want to put yourself in these situations anymore. You've "been there, done that", you know it's going to end in pain, and that 3 months is just going to fly by like it's nothing, whereas it's a romantic eternity for a young person. It's not the same. So there comes a point when you shut everyone out.
Our physical wounds heal. Or if serious, they leave us in a physical disability, but we have a self-awareness them.
Our mental wounds do not. We are a walking caricature of all the trauma we've ever experienced. There's ourselves at our core, which people will know when they get to know us in time, but there's our outward personality, our first impressions, which is a collection of our traumatic experiences. We are victims to our experiences. All of the hearbreak, #MeToos, abuse, uncomfortable moments we have experienced since childhood onward shape who we are today.
    Never lose your desire.
