Filmboards has a quantifiable ranking (#93,940 globally) but we don’t have a direct comparable recent ranking for MovieChat from the same source.
The older figure for MovieChat (479,000 visits in six months) suggests higher engagement than the older figure for Filmboards (244,000 visits in six months) if we assume those numbers are accurate and representative.
Consequently: MovieChat likely has higher popularity / traffic (among niche film forums) than Filmboards, though neither is large in the scale of major film/TV entertainment platforms.

        ✅ My Assessment
        Given the data:
MovieChat appears to have higher traffic (per the six-month figure of ~400-500k+ visits) than Filmboards (with a claim ~244k visits for the same period) though both are niche and modest in scale.
The Filmboards estimate is older and less reliable; the StatShow number suggests extremely low traffic, but that may be out-of-date or mis-estimated.
Because both sites lack widely published, up-to-date analytics via free tools, we cannot confirm exact current visitor numbers, trends (up or down), or engagement quality.
