From what I understand it's a sexual fetish, they get a thrill out of it because they are attracted to women.
The whole "drag queen" thing is a bit different because gay performers do it for lulz and entertainment.

I've watched this, I think. Is this the one where the men are fully covered in latex and go to conventions? If this is the one I'm thinking of, one man totally changed his mind and said he'd never do it again (maybe except in the privacy of his home?)

I can't imagine that to be comfortable at all, head to toe in latex. Your skin can't breathe, and you have to wear adult diapers because you're zipped and corseted so tightly into this costume.

But transvestitism has nothing to do with transgender. It's men dressing up as women because they get a sexual thrill from women and women's clothes.
