At least he served his time. There are people who sell live animals who haven't served any prison time. At least this guy probably won't do it again. Children are accounted for by the government. They're very protected. Non-human animals, not so much. A predator could go into the woods, molest a raccoon, and no one would ever know it. At least with children, people know about it when it happens. Authorities are notified instantly. And those who served time for sex crimes don't usually do it again once free. Releasing an animal abuser from prison is more of a danger to the society by far than a child molester.
