The mother got her baby killed.
I know, this will always be more on her than the cop.
BUT, there is nothing wrong with running away in this scenario. She has a baby in her arms she aint gunna be that fast, just back up enough until you have enough time to turn around and run out the door, then figure out what to do next. Running away will not make you any less a man, let a lone any less a cop.
I dunno, all i am saying is I would have tried getting out first. Or even hand to hand combat? she is essentially just a one armed woman at this point and you are a big strong man just grab her knife arm with both your hands? cops are trained in that **** right? Just take a chance on getting stabbed man, rather than shoot through an innocent baby to stop the threat to your own life. The kid would still get hurt in the scuffle but live at least, but the cop ended that babies life to try and ensure his own. -

The cop was doing his job. The Supreme Court ruled in Castle Rock v. Gonzales (2005) that cops have absolutely no responsibility to aid or protect any citizen. So they are essentially a legal mafia, there solely to extort money from taxpayers.
