And these bacteria in the spruce needles can be used to purify water.

and for using trees to prevent excessive dredging; that makes no sense that such a "discovery" would help those trees in any way. -

Those bacterias in the spruce needles may be able to clean rivers and lakes.
Not just a glass of water on your prepper trip.
And if entire landscapes are no longer dug up in the search for gold, but only the exact place where there's actually gold, then less trees will be chopped down.

the article is trying to sell you on some sort of environmental engineering so they people who pay for that article can keep polluting. even more freely if you buy into that treatment of symptoms rather than a cure.
and the hunt for gold wouldn't work like you and the article states. if they found a good amount of gold in the trees, they would know where they'd want to dig.
there is no way in any scenario that trees would somehow make it out better than if those ideas were published and the trees were left alone.
you want to believe things are one way, but the world of men works another way. -
