I have heard stories from actors on the set who have said that Reeve was really serious about the role, and he always stayed in character, even between takes. He would never joke around and was business all the time. Maybe that rubbed people the wrong way.
Jack O'Halloran, who played Non, has always been very complimentary of Reeve. He posts on imdb often and he always seems to have nice things to say about Reeve so your comment comes as a surprise.

      The book
      Superman vs. Hollywood
says different. Jack said some nice things about Reeve, but he also mentioned that he wasn't as nice or giving to fans until after his accident.
When there's no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

Jack O'Halloran on a message he sent me on Facebook said they resolved their differences. There is no reason for me to doubt that they did.

Emil Muzz seems like a jerk when you hear his Reeve comments.

Margot Kidder Blamed Chris for superman4 been a flop.
            Source?
Every interview that I have seen, Margot always talked about Chris favorably, and stated in a documentary that it was the "Script" that was bad.
I actually enjoyed superman4 there was some really nice moments in that film. Flying was awful course it was but the story I really believe was there.
I'm glad you enjoyed the film.
I thought the story was the worst Superman story I have ever seen
Yes, there were some good moments in the film, but that didn't compensate for the poor story.
The special effects were appalling. The Moon battle for instance. Those blast hits Superman took looked like a cartoon. I actually thought the flying wasn't too bad, though that is not to say that it was as good as the other three films.
I have seen some of the deleted scenes involving "Nuclear Man 1". Those scenes were horrible. I am glad they deleted those And still the movie wasn't good without them.
As for Chris taking the movies seriously, I fully support that kind of movie making. If the other actors wanted to joke around all the time, that is there problem, not Chris'.
Without Donner and Chris, Superman I would have been a horrible film. Nothing like the realistic epic that it turned out to be. We would have gotten another 1950s Superman or 1960s Batman. Those were fine in their day, but times changed.

Agreed,I still get a kick out of watching Superman:The Movie. The things I didn't like was Hackman's portryal of Lex Luthor. Hackman is a very good actor. I liked him in Mississippi Burning and Runaway Jury. He can go dark when he wants to. I guess the other thing I hated was he(Superman) did fight anyone.

The actors who played Non & Ursa took cheap shots at Reeve after his accident. They were classless nobodies, though, so their bitterness & jealously was understandable.
Margot Kidder may have made a comment at one time but praised Reeve as an actor and person before his accident (so no pity), as did Richard Donner. Mark Pillow (Nuclear Man) said Reeve was very a warm, friendly guy when he was asked about him at a recent fan convention.
By all accounts, Reeve was difficult only when working with people who didn't share his vision, or pull their own weight. He was an introvert who took his work very seriously. Some people like to be less full-on when on movie sets but Reeve was an all or nothing guy. That can rub many people the wrong way, but the guy's immense dedication for getting the role done right surely offset any on-set difficulties. Reeve's talent for bringing Superman to life speaks for itself - he was doing something right. He was a one of a kind.
People say he had a bad reputation, like he did a bad thing. Reeve was never abusive or threatening towards people. He was a good man before and after his accident.
Imdb message boards - kick someone's ass on the first day, or become someone's bitch.

I have a lot of sympathy for Chris.
Why the beep are you refering to Christopher Reeve as "Chris", as if somehow you knew him ? That's creepy.
You refer to people you don't know by their last name or their full name, unless you're in the loser zone.

                    That's creepy.
No it's not. What's the matter with you? Nicknames have been used for a long time, and "Chris" is a perfectly acceptable nickname for Christopher. Besides which, this is just a discussion about the individual, and not addressing him directly. Considering how many people this day and age, use that Lazy A$$ Chat Room speak, like: AFAIK, ROTFWL, and GTFO I applaud anyone here who isn't saying "CR".
Now if Mr. Christopher Reeve were still alive, and went up to him and said: "Chris, may I have your autograph." Well, then you might have a point, but it would be more about a lack of respect, rather that being creepy.
                    Take a chill pill.

Do you KNOW Christopher Reeve ? Personally ? If the answer is yes, then you can call him "Chris".
If the answer is no, you're an extremely creepy person. That is all.
