Doesn't this answer Iron Man's question? He asks if the plan is going to work, but Dr. Strange didn't want to tell him explaining it would change the outcome, which obviously means the outcome is a good one otherwise Dr. Strange would not need to protect it, which means he essentially did tell Iron Man what would happen, thus according to the statement "If I tell you what happens, it won't happen," then it shouldn't have happened.
