This is why gay men should not direct a superhero movie.

Gay men cannot make a movie without the camera checking out all the male actors.
Schumacher's "male gaze" is abundant throughout the film. There are awkward shots of Batman and Robin's physique and of them posing.
He put too much focus in making the suits look like (naked) human bodies, with overly detailed muscles, rather than going for functional armory. The fact that he put nipples on the bat suits is evidence he thinks Batman and Robin are dressing as a naked bat and bird. Or at least shirtless. Seriously though, nipples?? Not even bats have nipples like that. It makes no sense.
Clooney's Bat suit is ridiculous looking. He doesn't look like intimidating vigilante who beats criminals to a pulp. He looks like an act at a gay burlesque show.
He likes naked man statues.
Bane was obviously reduced to the queer fantasy of a grumbling big macho bear who can't speak, donned in BDSM gear.
The undertones of Riddler and Two-Face's gay top and bottom homo relationship, Riddler being the bottom.
Schumacher lit up Gotham City all neon like a strip of gay bars. It's very Andy Warhol.
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane

Bruce Wayne has always been a gay character tho.
The serious, super macho Batman is his straight side and the Joker, who is his main enemy that he battles, represents his gay, campy feminine side.
It's all a metaphor for a closeted middle-aged man. -

Exactly. Total drag queen symbolism there. Bane was her gay bitch.

Oh please, the relationship between Batman and Robin was always homosexual, even pederastic, man and boy.
Superhero movies themselves rely on the macho superman figure. They've are homoerotic by nature. In the beginning, in the 1930's, the comics were a way for young males to sublimate their homosexual urges into something safe.
