The Hollywood Reporter confirms the release of LOGAN in China! It is later than the North American release date but this is still great news given the initial reservations because of the strong violence nature of its R-rating! Deadpool was banned for release in China because of its R-rating.

Logan is set to open in the Middle Kingdom on Friday, March 17, just two weeks after its North American debut, March 3
'Logan' will open opposite Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast' on March 17, while 'Skull Island' will have the March 24 frame to itself.
A little unfortunate that its release date in China coincides with the release date of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. On the other hand, superhero/action/fantasy movies are the real huge blockbusters in China, so maybe LOGAN does have a chance to get excellent box office results. The Wolverine hit $ 40.6 million on its China release, which was approximately 10% of its worldwide box office results.
Can we now expect the LOGAN team to travel to China, too, for another premiere? -

The issue with LOGAN was likely the strong violence nature of its R-rating. If China wanted a more sanitized version, it would probably have been easier to make it closer to a PG-13 rating for the Chinese market, without losing the essential dramatic punch of LOGAN. If I remember right, it wasn't easy to do the same thing for DEADPOOL because the objections might have been centered also on language and nudity in addition to the violence factor which would have lost the appeal/message of that movie had it been heavily edited.

China's censorship authorities often work with Hollywood studios to create special cleaned-up cuts of R-rated movies, but sources close to the Deadpool decision say it wasn't possible to excise the offending material without causing plot problems. -

Now Logan can at least make as much as Deadpool.
I hope Logan to make lots of money but I don't like of the idea of small budge movies like Deadpool to makes a lot of money cause this might encourage Fox to not make a great movie with visual effects like X-Men Apocalypse and Days of Future Past. -

Of course they're going to sanitize it. China only allows movies that are deemed appropriate for all audiences (according to their particular standards) because they do not have ratings. As a result, movies like this have to make a China appropriate cut. Who cares though? It's not like you have to watch that cut and for those who do this is standard fare at this point.

They'll probably keep the essential plot but edit the very violent scenes. But since the movie is focused on characterizations and a storyline which presumably gives a fitting ending to the saga of Wolverine, I don't think the Chinese audiences will miss all that much. They did like THE WOLVERINE ( $ 41 Million box office results) so maybe they will also like this re-teamup of Mangold ( who also thought of the story and co-wrote the script) and Jackman! The inclusion of Patrick Stewart as Prof X will be a bonus, if they have supported the franchise since it first started.
