I heard that too, guess Calista couldn't do them, or they only hoped for 6, but could only secure two at the start of the season for now.
They are filming 16 at the moment or nearly about to start 17. So only 6 more to go, we should hear if shes back any day now, so its why I assume if she does its end of the season.

In an interview around the time of the season premiere, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg talked about Cat appearing in at least six episodes this season.
At this point, I'm thinking he may have been speaking about their hopes for her appearances, rather than a commitment.

Well she was already in two so it's still possible she could be in another four before the season ends.

I had high hopes for CW fixing the CBS mess, but they've made it worse.
