Intergalactic spy for the Thanagarian empire.
Her mission was to destroy the one man who could stop their invasion; Vandal Savage.
She is currently planning strategies with the other thanagarian generals on how to quickly disable Earth's military power and conquer the planet.
I hear she'll be back for season 3. -

That was Silver Age Hawkgirl (well, policewoman). I'm far from an expert on the many versions of DC characters, but I think the Silver Age sci-fi Hawkman and Hawkgirl have pretty much been written out of DC's convoluted continuity in favor of variations of the Golden Age versions who were reincarnations of ancient Egyptians (as on the TV version). -

I know, I was too. I'm just a huge Silver Age fan and couldn't resist. I bought and read Hawkman in the early '60s when the Silver Age version was introduced (though he was never one of my particular favorites). I think he or the Atom were the last of the Golden Age characters (most famously the Barry Allen Flash and the Hal Jordan Green Lantern) re-imagined by DC in the Silver Age (though the Atom was related to the Golden Age Atom in name only).

They, D.C., actually merged the 2, The Golden Age (1940's-50's) and The Silver Age (mid-late 1950's-1986). They also merged all of the alternate universes. Supergirl's Universe, Superboy's Universe, the aforementioned Earth-2 (Golden Age), Captain Marvel's Universe (Faucet Comics), Captain Atom, Blue Beetle, The Question(Carlton Comics)and so on. Well, yeah, but after they simplified their continuity by creating a single earth in the mid-80s with Crisis on Infinite Earths, they reintroduced multiple earths over the years and have rebooted many of their characters multiple times (I'm no expert, but have read a sampling of these comics from the library, including Crisis). After the major reboot about five years ago with the New 52, they recently rebooted their universe yet again following Convergence (I read the core Convergence issues and some of the associated stories recently, again from the library).
FWIW, I began reading Silver Age DC in the late '50s (around kindergarten) and continued to read them, as well as Marvel beginning around '64, through the '60s. I read some comics sporadically in college (early '70s) and then left them until the last few years when I've read some stuff from the intervening forty years from the library.
