On a character level, it would be possible for Wally to replace Barry as in the comics, but on an actor level, there is no way this show will work without Grant. He is the beating heart of the show.

Under the right circumstances.
Wally probably couldn't carry the show, but if they sent Bart back from the future, or introduced cousin Wally, or let Jay handle the lead while they try and make Wally or Jesse a capable lead.

Nope! If Barry goes the show's ratings will drop as fast as Trumps popularity. Wally is obnoxious and can't carry the show on his own. Besides, people are fed up with blackwashing white characters.
