James overreacted, when Kara confronted him

I think Kara doesn't give Alex a hard time because she had formal DEO training. I think Alex once said, she trained for a year before getting in the field.
Kara was tough on James, and could have explained her concern better. -

Its clear James has martial arts training from the looks of him more than a single years worth.
In season 1 you'll remember that Alex went up against Astra in a powered suit that wasn't designed by Winn far more dangerous than what James is doing. Alex is nearer and dearer to her. She's been her foster sister for the entire time she's been on Earth. James is a passing fancy that she's known for a year.
The writing is bad. Its like its being written by committee that doesn't know where its going and doesn't remember what it has done before. -

That doesn't fly, because James has had years of training that we haven't seen. It's not as if he's just a photographer that suddenly decided to fight. He's been in danger this entire time just being her friend, plus he was in danger for 10+ years being Clark's friend, and he's got a black belt, which is more than rookie cops have. Clark trusted his skills enough for him to be sent to keep an eye on her.
On top of all that, he's got a really cool suit of armour that none of the other DEO humans have.
She really couldn't have explained her concern better, because there's no foundation for it. -

I would say it's more about the fact that when James is the Guardian, he's mainly working alone, even if Winn is usually nearby and he has a cool suit.
When Alex goes on a mission she usually has either J'onn, Kara or both with her. Or at least a beep ton of other DEO agents along with her on the same mission. Basically Alex always has back up, (although there obviously has been times when she hasn't and she's been called dumb for being reckless) whereas The Guardian mainly works alone and will only have himself to rely on. -

Totally disagree. Kara is the one that overreacted. Kara works with an entire team of humans, including her sister, as others have mentioned. And James-as-Guardian has been on the streets fighting crime for several weeks. Kara has met Arrow and his entire (mostly) non-powered team of vigilantes. She sees her sister go up against powered aliens every day. But somehow James isn't qualified to be out there?
And this coming from someone that didn't really like the James-as-Guardian story line. -

I totally agree, Kara was pissed she didn't know, has been pissed at the whole guardian angle from the get go b4 she knew who it was, totally pushed Manal into being a superhero cus he has her powers, even though from his training session he doesn't think of others, just as James stated, and then when James shows up and not only saves those Man creep left behind, but also one who would of died because of Man creeps innaptitude, she goes off like a whiny lil 5 year old, and comes off sounding like a racist/speciest. Sorry for the run on. I generally like supergirl, but even I got offended over her ur a puny human crap. It came off sounding like her aunt and uncle.
