it's also Los Angeles. people there (i used to live there for 7 years) tend to not get freaked out by someone's sexuality. what i thought was a tad jarring was that they OVERTLY (in tonight's ep) now established that Lucifer is 100% without a doubt bi-sexual. in season 1 and for all of season 2 (not including tonight's ep) it was implied he may have been bi. it also made it ambiguous to where it would show both a man AND A WOMAN in bed with Lucifer (which could have meant that Lucifer didn't have sex with the man and that both men were "tag teaming" the woman).
in tonight's ep when Lucifer was mentioning his male lover my jaw kind of dropped (in a good way! i'm gay myself, so it was cool/fun to hear Lucifer mention having male lovers!) -

I think it's kind of stupid he is bi all of the sudden. Never have they shown him checking out a handsome man or saying anything that would suggest it. Quite the opposite really.
I think it would bother most straight women also. It's like she wasn't surprised or anything. -

In one of the very early episodes it showed that he had been to bed with a man and a woman at the same time. I suggest that showed exactly that. I would actually have been more surprised if Lucifer was strictly hetro. He is the devil after all, so should be a pretty much 'anything goes' kind of person.
Maze is also a bi kind of character. To me it fits perfectly with where they have come from. -

Nobody addressed the issue that I stated. Not that knowing he's bi woukd affect her as a friend. It shouldn't but as a man she's romantically interested in; it probably would. Chloe is not a party or club girl. She's more the settling down type and that's something that woukd probably not be appealing to her. Again she might be eventually fine with it but should have registered some stronger reaction. This is Us handled it better with the son having initial problems with his father being gay, though eventually accepting it. He even questioned himself as to why he wasn't more open but of course he wasn't right
away. Which would be the more standard reaction. -

Why? Why would that affect her? Plenty of gay and bi people aren't party people either. Sexuality implies nothing about lifestyle. Finding a parent is gay would be a lot different than finding out a friend, or even potential lover, is. You also need to think about the fact that, hypothetically, Lucifer and Chloe spend a lot more time together than what we see on screen. Just because there hasn't been a song and parade about the gender of every one of Lucifer's partners on the show doesn't mean Chloe, the character, isn't completely aware and very much used to Lucifer's sexuality. He isn't exactly shy about it.
As a (mostly) straight woman, finding out a lover, or potential lover, is bi and has been with partners of the same sex wouldn't bother me at all. And I'm not a partier either.

THIS! I agree with you 100%.Chloe should find someone more on her level. Someone that she know she can easily sexually please. Lucifer seems like the type to not want to settle down, and add on the fact that he's bisexual,you know damn well Chloe cannot sexually, or emotionally satisfy him.
Why he is even interested in her is beyond me.Maybe he wants to conquer the good girl or something. Maybe to corrupt her, and make her do awful things so he can get a kick out of it. -

Well, you need to get out more. Lots of people have no problem with other people's bisexuality. Especially in Los Angeles and the west coast where people are much more open about such things.

I get out plenty. And I don't have a problem with bisexuality.I just would not date a man that is bisexual. Just because some is ok with it, does not mean I should ok with it as well.
I know beep ton of bisexual men that is constantly cheating on their wives,and girlfriends with men, and they all say the same thing. A woman cannot satisfy their sexual cravings like a man can. -

How can you possibly assume that you speak for all women? I'm a woman, and I can guarantee you that if Tom Ellis were bi and he wanted to date me or marry me or basically do almost anything to me, I would be all about it. In fact, that man could probably even inspire me to consider changing my heterosexual/monogamous ways in the right situation.
Point is if you find someone attractive, and you trust them implicitly, then something as superficial as their past sexual adventures seems kind of petty.

Several times it was made clear that he's interested in other men. He asked Dan if he wanted a kiss, and there was another guy he made a suggestive remark to.
You'd have to be pretty blind to not pick up all the signals. Plus the writers, and Tom Ellis, have been tweeting all along that he's "open-minded". Fans asked the writers to clarify his orientation and the writers have said they already have.

Yeah! I was surprised by that too. I know if a man that I was dating told me he was bisexual, or even slept with men I would no longer be interested in me as a dating partner.bisexual men are a MAJOR turn off, and deal breaker for me. But we could always be friends.I would not mind a shopping buddy
