Am I the only one who noticed an overall drop in quality?
I thought "Love Handles" was wonderful. So I can't answer what you're not seeing that others are. BTW, the ratings were up for this episode over previous and actually out performed their lead in Gotham in overall viewers.

After struggling through the episode on 1/23 it looks like everyone glass already checked out. Am I the only one who noticed an overall drop in quality?
Every show is going through this lull. Not just Lucifer and it has nothing to do with ratings. Since networks aren't doing long seasons like we remember for a while ago, to make the season last a bit longer they inserted a break. It's doesn't mean anything other than Networks are awful at common sense , oh and their cheap.

I thought there was a big drop in quality as well. For the first time I didn't laugh out loud once. Seemed the emphasis was on a basic procedural- boring. The editing also was choppy in interspersing character scenes with the boring bits. The directing was bland, unimaginative (clearly a director who can't do humour), as was the lighting and photography- didn't have that graphic novel feel like the previous ep, for example- very flat all round. It's like all the colour was bled out of the ep.
I'm really bummed out by this. I'm hoping it was a one of. Ep 2.12 redeemed itself with the last 10 minutes which were gripping, colourful and had me sitting on the edge of my seat.
7/10 because of the ending, and because the acting is always awesome. I'm hoping when I rewatch it, I'll like it more.

Troll baits a hoook and drops the line into the water just to see what he can pull up, and LOOK WHAT TOOK THE BAIT.
Directing was bland and unimaginative?? Clearly a director who can't do humour?!?! The lighting was bland? the photography was bland? Did you run out of "aspects" to bitch about? Or were you just reading a list of "qualities that a TV show must have"? You really stuck your foot into it when you bitched that there was no colour in the show. How pathetic.
          You're as obvious as OP.
Neither of you will ever have any credibility on this board again.
I'm still trying to figure out what makes you Negativity Trolls tick. I'm absolutely positive that the foundation is that you desperately need to look down your noses at something, or else you would never have anything to look down at.
But I'm still wondering why you don't do something positive to build yourselves up? Like, read a few books, learn a foreign language, travel a little, learn to play an instrument, take up a sport and train in it till you excel. If you did something like this, you'd feel a whole lot better about yourselves. Is it really that hard that instead you resort to sitting in your bedroom and sneering at everything around you, just for the sake of generating more negativity like your own?

Because supporting your thesis is tough, but throwing adjectives is easy.

To reply to the OP, no I haven't noticed a drop in quality and I doubt that you have either. There are a lot of people (sadly, my fellow Christians, though of the ignorant, uninformed variety, who act as stumbling blocks because they make others think that the Church is the bastion of ignorance and stupidity) who post on this board simply to try and make the show look bad.
I mean, look at your lone post - and only one other post ever and not on LUCIFIER. None of it shows any knowledge of the show or even the knowledge of any of the characters. The plot has intensified and all of the characters look quite intensely involved. So, not buying your post.
A lot of people merely look at the title of the show and see "Lucifer" and turn their brain off. In fact, LUCIFER is much more respectful of religion than shows like SUPERNATURAL.
For reasons I needn't go into right now, I follow a huge number of TV shows, over the course of a year around 85 to 100. This is definitely in my top ten favorite shows and probably in my top five. I would necessarily rate it as among the top five shows, but it is one that gives me a lot of joy. I get tired of all the dumb posts about this shows that reveal an uninformed motive in trashing it. Please go back to rewatching Lawrence Welk reruns.

Bottom 5 for me and as realistic as Religion is.

Top of the top Five for me. Always a delight and the one I look forward to the most. Not many shows can get the right balance between compelling jeopardy and fun. Too many just keep upping the hardship quotient until they are down right depressing.

Robert, Thanks for the direct reply. This remains one of my favorite shows for its wit and chemistry between characters. My concern stemmed from only the most recent episode which showed choppy dialogue and editing. That, combined with yet another break makes me think the network may be caving in to those less educated Christian friends of yours (people that manage to watch even more TV than you?).
Regardless, it's one of my favorite shows and I'll continue to watch as long as it's available.

Don't worry about Fox caving. It's not happening. That whole "Million Moms" charade didn't make an impression. They finally took their petition against the show off their website because it had under 30,000 signatures. One of my favorite tweets ever was from Neil Gaiman who said, (paraphrased) "glad to see 972,637 moms agree that Lucifer on Fox is awesome". lol.
Damn right we're snowflakes! Winter is coming!

Don't worry. Next episode is showing 5/1/2017. And it has been renewed for another season. Tonight's episode was killer (pun intended.) I know one of the lead artists/designers on the production through his mother. He also worked for ten years on Smallville. Some of his work was featured in this "cliffhanger" episode the bad art at the gallery. We couldnt figure out how the work requested for "bad art" would fit into one of the episodes. I guess now we know. Hehe. The artist's name is Scott Bader. He also created the hell-themed old masters look paintings for the devil worshipping cult episode and the design for hell, as well as other designs. I think he also did the overall set design (mock ups) for the police station and likely other bits and pieces I don't know about.
Glad folks liked the show enough to get renewed. It keeps Scott employed!
