Wisdom and love of good film should never be shouted down by idiots.
Fans are buying the fact that the old white male members of the academy gave this a token nomination for two reasons.- They love George Miller (one of them).
- They think this is a "popular" film and it'll get idiots to watch their telecast.
Too bad they didn't care to look in to real word of mouth. Most people did not enjoy Fury Road. I guess the idiot blind fans will watch. So, they'll get their wish but in far smaller numbers than they thought.

Haven't seen it, don't feel particularly one way or the other about it. I just wish FOX would give Marvel its properties back. Why, is it getting badly received?

If the reviews are any indication, the new FF makes MOS look like a masterpiece. Its current Tomatometer is a pathetic 14%, and it may not even break $30 million this weekend.
If memory serves, this is the worst opening for a superhero film since the Marvel Cinematic Universe was established in 2008.

Yeah, I've been over on the boards. It's a massacre over there, people fighting over blame for the director and blame for the studio like dogs over scraps. It sounds like if they had stuck just a
little
more closely to the Ultimate comics and Trank had made more of an effort to keep the fans on his side instead of pissing them off at every tun, they might not be in this mess.
