lolthis gives me an idea. We should create a new kind of baby name book with our own name definitions. New standards for old names and brand new definitions for all of the creative names these days, like Haha (Clinton-Dix). LaToya, Tanisha, DaMarcus. Wouldn't it be fun? First one on the list will be Jane: Lucifer's Kryptonite. We should do it! 🙂

So what would Darth (Vader) or Tony (Stark) mean? Indiana (Jones)? How about Anastasia (Steel)? Christian (Grey)? HmmmI wonder. 😉

Darth is Old Jedi for "Needs Inhaler"
Tony in computer language translates to "Runtime error - please reboot"
Indiana is Sioux for "God-damn look at the size of that ball"
Anastasia is "My inner goddess" in the lost language of Authorneedstobuyatheasaruspleasepleasebeforeishootmyself
            And
Christian is "Seriously, get some therapy dude" in every language

The Lucifer writers really do their research. The name, Jane (Chloe's middle name) means "gift from God" in Hebrew.
Almost everyone's name is some derivative of 'gift from god', 'handmaid of god', 'blessed of god', 'god's light' etc.
                ad nauseum
. I don't think Lucifer thought it meant anything.
"Can you keep a secret? Can you know something and never speak of it again?"

My name is nowhere close to meaning something "of God". Ha! I wonder what that means? ooh, neither of my kids are "godly" either. But one of them is "pure", and the other one means "dark" and I'm blowing my own mind here because in some ways that's very close to who they are personality-wise. (and I don't mean dark in a negative way, just more complex and mysterious where the other is all light and open).

My own name Michael means God-like in Hebrew which when I was a child felt like a super-power
