And how you would know this?
Did Constantine get 5 seasons to compare it?
Or you forget how the season 1 of Supernatural was?
Try watching just the first season and tell me that it wasnt a mediocre drama. -

I wouldn't go that far!! Apart from BBuffy the vampire slayer Supernatural is my 2nd favourite show every. I agree thisshow is great I'm just gutted I'm from UK and didn't get a chance to be included in the tv ratings. I'm praying it doesn't get cancelled but gets a better time slot

Cant both Constantine and supernatural be great shows? Why the need to compare?
Still holding out hope that Constantine will be picked up elsewhere.
And yes, if supernatural was on nbc it would have been canceled after less than 10 eps, but nbc sucks and has no clue what good tv is so thats not saying much. -

I've been watching Supernatural since season four and while the quality tends to go up and down, for the most part it's a very good show. I'm invested in the characters more than the story most of the time.
Constantine is similar in tone yet it's great show by itself. 13 episodes versus 204? Comparing the two isn't really fair. It's very doubtful Constantine will get another season at this point but I would love to see more episodes, it kept getting better and better as the show went on. I want that Newcastle flashback episode already!

As much as I love Constantine, it's hard to top shows like Supernatural, Buffy, and Angel. I think that Constantine could've been as good as those shows if it hadn't been cancelled.

I think the problem is that straight males tend to shy away from soap opera bromances
It is a show that appeals to women who like to see attractive men fighting attractive male angels and male demons and talking about their feelings
And it is okay for men to like the show, but it doesn't appeal to as many men as it does to women I'm sure there are lots of men who watch the Bachelor, as well -

I honestly think Constantine should have followed the pilot rather than be retooled after the test audience they chose didn't think it was good enough. That and so many kept comparing and connecting it to the Keanu Reeves movie which was barely anything to do with Hellblazer or Constantine except the name and supernatural themes. So much potential wasted, and with the actor they chose i could even overlook his accent and lack of smoking. I really was looking for it to mirror the stories of the Hellblazer comics and crossover with the Lucifer series.
I spose i'll just have to hope that he comes back in the Arrowverse regularly. -

Supernatural has a ridiculous huge storyline, with main villains that run through the course of the show, it's actually quite entertaining, but you can't expect it to be on Game of Thrones level. Think of it as X-files but instead of gov't conspiracies and aliens, you have gods and monsters, but the main story line and the two dudes make it worth while, even if you want to kill them sometimes for their hypocrisy and murder sprees.
The show is worth watching just for a few scenes, they are powerful, like when Castiel makes his first appearance, or Lucifer, or any of the powerful characters that Sam and Dean actually can't take down (yes, rare, but it does happen). And there are so many reveals in the show it really is a gem, you'll get hooked pretty quick after season 1. They yellow eyed demon is awesome yes, but he's just the beginning.
Give it another chance if you have the time. There are a lot of stand alone episodes with ghosts and such, but even those are there for a reason, establishing a baseline psychiatric evaluation of the brothers etc. And everything comes into play eventually.

SUPERNATURAL IS HORRIBLE!!!
Don't let all of these lemmings fool you! It merely survived off the steam of the awesome, yet cancelled
Miracles
series along with leading actors that females go goo-goo gah-gah over. That's the only reason for the ratings and why it's survived so long not to mention the endless pool of mindless automatons who tune into such drivel!
Constantine
being cancelled is sadly proof that it was a television show of substance and value since all of the intelligent, worthwhile shows are cancelled in their infancy. Its the reason so many reality shows and mindless TV prevail! -

As one of the 'Big Three' broadcast networks, NBC has much higher expectations for ratings and demographics than either Fox or The CW where
Constantine
might have been considered to be a hit (or at least successful enough to renew).
