That's actually a good question. Her body would have to shift and warp/wrap around the metal bones and distort her body?
Although I don't think she has the metal in her bones, yet.

It's comic book science, so of course it's ridiculous. As far as I know, it's never been addressed in the comics concerning her growth and Admantium covered claws. Maybe the growth of her claws have been stunted due to the Admantium bonding.

Not necessarily. The book version of the character gained her claws when she was 7 (?). If the average fore-arm of a seven year old girl, from wrist to elbow is 10 inches then the adamantium claws can be stored along the length of her fore-arm. Normal comic book renderings have X-23's claws extending between 8 and 10 inches so her claws would not have to be replaced, because they wouldn't grow or get longer.

But the thing about X-23, as with most Marvel SH, especially the female ones. It's not the super power that makes them formidable or dangerous. It's the will and and the intelligence. They don't quit and they don't give up.
