Not only that, she's got incredible bone structure which means she'll continue to look good into old age. In fact, she could play a much younger role than Chloe. She's extremely youthful looking for her age.

She does seem to have reddish bags under her eyes sometimes, is that makeup? And her face doesn't move a lot, but that might be her cool character, trying to stay professional?

Like I said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
RandomBob thinks German looks great and showed us a pic of her looking great.
I took a look and all but recoiled. To me it emphasizes how malnourished she looks, her head looks like a skull, and her eyebrows are VERY obviously painted on. I saw this and thought wow, she needs to eat a hamburger. A LOT of them.
Dita von Teese has the same high cheekbones, but carries more meat on her bones, so her face is fuller.

Look at this picture and see ALL the hair in her brows. They are not "painted on". I'm sure she uses brow pencil, almost everyone who cares about their appearance in show biz does, but that's real hair in her brows, top to bottom. Unless you're going to tell me they're like those glue on mustaches? Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if you did.

I think she's beautiful. I can understand if some people don't find her their style but I can't understand why people spend so much time expressing negatives. A negative review of a show is one thing; disparaging comments on someone's looks is just spiteful. Must be nice to have so much free time.

Yes, she has real hair in her eyebrows but she fills a lot of them in. Which means they aren't as great as you seem to think.
Not all movie stars 'fill them in' if they don't need to. Case in point

Are you honestly telling me you can't see the clean edges of her eyebrows on the top of her eyes and inbetween her eyes? Eyebrows don't do that naturally. Eyebrow pencils do.

Considering we can't really see all the hair because of how heavily drawn on they are, I'm reserving judgment on how much they're overplucked.

I've read much of this thread, but I must admit, I haven't read every post, so if this is a big repeat, sorry.
I though "Chloe" was getting sick and her makeup and, yes, junkie chic look, was supposed to be showing that. I thought it had something to do with her being shot, Lucifer bargaining for her life, and then, seemingly, not keeping his end of the bargain.
Much of what I've read is about subjective taste. But I wasn't really sure if the OP was about that, just that her looks, within the show, had changed.
No, David. No one is happy in a poodle skirt and a sweater set.

I'm thinking maybe the makeup department is doing a terrible job with her, her eyebrows look like someone painted them with a brown sharpie! She's beautiful, not disputing that, everything about her is pretty much perfect, but I think they need to fire her makeup artist.

Perhaps because she's portraying a woman in a highly stressful job who is also a single parent and probably doesn't get a lot of sleep? Someone whose priorities include doing the best that she can in her job and as a mother but don't include obsessing over her looks. She looks like a real human being and I wish to god that we had more actors looking like that instead of looking like plastic 12 year old dolls.
I do have to say that, to me, she very often looks quite jaundiced so maybe she has a liver disorder but why is it even an issue? I think she does a great job as Chloe and she and Tom Ellis have a wonderful chemistry which is a whole lot more important than how Laura German looks. -

I generally love the cinematography and lighting of the show, but they must have certain lighting people at times who do not seem to know how to flatter the actors' faces. For instance, Tricia Helfer looks older in this than anything I've seen her in. She looks so much better in her instagram photos, interviews, etc. She always looks beautiful, but not as much in the show. I don't even have high Def! So I can only imagine how these guys' look in that. Tom looks a lot more tired on the show, too. Older, dark circles. None of these people look like this on other shows or in interviews. I wish they'd get this lighting thing worked out. Some episodes, especially the earlier ones, it's not a problem, but I'm noticing it more and more in the later episodes, and I don't think it's cuz they're tired, cuz Tricia's been showing it since her first scene.
Lauren also has a skin condition where she can't be in the sun. Considering that, I think her skin looks amazing. I really wish people would be critical of more important things than the superficiality of a person's looks.
And I agree about their chemistry, etc. Many of the best shows don't have the prettiest people but you fall in love with them anyway. It's all about the acting and the chemistry, and I think this show excels on those fronts while having the added bonus of very pretty people playing the parts.

I just realize Lauren German is the girl that survived at the end of Hostel II.
The one who said she could buy everyone in the Hostel and she cut one of the guest's private parts off to prove her point.
She actually looks better in that movie.
She doesn't look like she does in Lucifer: bags under her eyes and blood shot eyes as if she hasn't slept in days.
