Did the dogs die?

After Joker has the Chechen gangster killed, he takes his dogs, and then uses the dogs to attack Batman. Batman eventually throws the dogs off him and the dogs are never seen again in that scene. Did they fall off the building and die? Or were they just scared away?

I've only seen this movie twise and the last time was in like 2012 or 2013 so I definately do not remember any dogs being in the movie. I'd forgotten about that Chechen until you mentioned him. Don't remember him having dogs, but still
What an utterly forgettable movie.
