    I'd agree with it more if Kilgrave went out of his way to only use his powers to control and rape women, but he uses his powers to have his way with everybody. Man, woman, and children.

      He's not just a rapist. He's a sociopath. You have to understand that. He lives in his own fantasy world.

          The point is that Kilgrave is a sociopath and a man-child. He acts very childish, and doesn't understand how the world works.

              That aspect of Kilgrave is focused on because of his prior relationship to Jessica. The show brilliantly shows how a woman who already has issues deals with the PTSD of being a rape victim. Yes, Kilgrave is a sociopath who acts like a petulant child, and there is more to his evil than just rape, but because of his relation to the main character, it gets more attention. And honestly, rape culture needs to be addressed more, especially in our current state.
