It seems to me that people are not trusting in the DCEU very much anymore when a unconfirmed report of WW being a mess by a random poster who did not actually name where he heard it from was published an awful lot of people just instantly brought into it without even questioning or trying to validate it.
Recently, an open letter from an anonymous alleged former Warner Bros. employee was published online, airing grievances against the company and its film slate. The letter claimed that Wonder Woman was just as much of a "mess" as Suicide Squad, and that a bad movie is hiding behind a great trailer.
Now more recently we have the same thing being repeated with Justice League this time an anonymous source from a fan site.
Affleck's The Batman Delayed Because Justice League Is a Mess? According to the Batman fan site Batman On Film, Warner Bros. and Ben Affleck have pushed back production on The Batman by a couple of months. The site couldn't name the source for their information, but they did say it came from a longtime source, so that might lend some credibility to it since they have gone to the same source multiple times. That said, Batman On Film doesn't exactly have a perfect track record, so this shouldn't be taken as gospel or anything
Now obviously at this point no one really knows if these movies are really a mess or not but doesn't it strike you that WB/DC has managed to create such distrust in people in only three movies that a large segment of people are willing to instantly believe these none validated rumours so quickly. So do you think that WB/DC has brought this distrust on itself with what it has produced so far or do you feel that people are just to willing to jump on the band waggon and condemn anything related to the DCEU franchise?
I am kind of in the middle on this as to a certain extent the previous efforts in the DCEU have not been that good in my opinion but it does seem that people are a bit too willing to believe anything negative they hear about the new productions or even seeming to want them to be/do bad. Do you honestly think that a large section of people would actually want to see DCEU movies do badly? (I don't mean the occasional individual here we will always have some haters)
To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script -Alfred Hitchcock

About 50 - 50, tbh. I've been a DC fan for decades, I enjoyed MoS and BvS (and to a lesser extent SS), but I'm not blind to the problems - including that each film seems to be worse than the one before it. I posted elsewhere that it's like a vicious circle/cycle; film 'A' doesn't do as well as they hoped to they oversee film 'B' a bit more. Film 'B' doesn't do as well as they hoped (or even, possibly, as well as film 'A'), so they oversee film 'C' even more. And so on. The suits need to learn when to leave people/things the beep alone.
But yes, there are also plenty of people willing the films to fail, jumping on every negative comment they can find, and seemingly regarding it as their mission in life to run the DCEU down as much as possible.

i think the general public (not critics, writers, cmb fans or people on youtube doing those reaction videos) are slightly indifferent towards the dceu. i think they hate on it is far less, if they hear it's bad they'll simply not go, they don't go to sleep thinking about where they went wrong. i remember a co-worker asked if i saw and liked xmen apocalypse because he heard it wasn't very good and was kind of messy, i gave my two cents and he never brought it up again.
but everyone else, yeah there is some disdain, ummmm you still have people saying Superman is outdated, or who needs Superman when you have Captain America, people still making those 10 reasons why BvS sucked, the memes still floating around, nominating the cast for razzies, it's painting the film and franchise as garbage. and these actions, yeah they may seep into the general public's opinions, even if they haven't seen it. i mean you have people who say, i don't like what DC is doing too much, but i haven't seen BvS.
              =w=
