They've been pushing agendas since the first episode as I recall
Also hate to burst your bubble, CW is all about this type of stuff, so in the weird very unlikely chance there was as Superman Spinoff, it would probably be even more controversial. -

I don't let my kids watch Arrow, or even LOT for that reason. However, Supergirl season 1 used to be appropriate, very much like The Flash. The stereotyping on Supergirl is wrong, people of all gender, colour and sexuality can see that. The only 2 tough women on the show are both gay.
Supergirl needs to get the political writers out of the room. Leave these plotlines for The L Word and OITNB.

It was a CBS Show which meant they had to keep it appropriate for old people to not turn off channel, now its a CW Show now, CW shows embrace that garbage and encourage the writers to spout it off as its a breeding ground for liberal agenda and supergirl is their "girl power" show now.

It depends on how old your kids are and whether they do their chores, do well at school, etc.
My 10-year-old knows that if his room isn't clean and all his homework isn't done by Sunday night, he cannot watch Game of Thrones. Then he'll be spoiled on the episode the next day when the other kids are talking about it. That's a powerful motivator to get his work done.
My 12-year-old is an excellent student and she does her homework and chores on time, without having to be asked, so she gets privileges for the shows she likes Outlander, True Blood, American Horror Story, and that show about the teenage vampires.
Honestly there are so many shows about vampires that I don't know which is which. -

Krypt, you let your 10 year old watch Game of Thrones? Isn't that a bit too adult for the child? I love GoT but there are a lot of sex scenes, with both straight people and gays, some serious killing scenes, lots of cursing etc. How can you let your 10 year old watch that?
Teenage love affairs are about intensity, not longevity -

Kids don't all come in the same size. Some are more mature, some aren't. So some can handle stuff like Game of Thrones, other can't.
BTW Krypt, kudos on the chores/homework incentive. Parentingwhat a concept? -

My kids watch The Flash, but since we're from Europe I have time to watch the episode while they're at school, so I can judge if it's appropriate enough. Especially my youngest doesn't really notice the storylines, he just likes to watch The Flash in action.
While The Flash has some gay characters like Pied Piper and Captain Singh, they're not stereotypical, and the writers know better than to force it on you. The gay agenda with modern media is becoming a bit too much for my liking. Suddenly everything has to be gay. Dumbledore's gay, Sulu is gay, Star Wars gets a gay character, Pinguin is gay. The agenda is too much. Even George Takei, a very inspiring gay man who I've loved on Star Trek for years, has spoken about how modern media force and rush it, and only seem to use stereotypes.
There's nothing wrong with gay people on a show, but these days it's like shows need to have one stereotypical gay person and one interracial couple, or else it's branded a racist show with racist viewers. Hopefully Trump fixes things.

I'm not talking about homosexuality, I'm talking about left wing agendas, changing character origins, adding emo romances. But I'll entertain your response anyway, can't really speak for the non dc shows as they all have proven to be garbage, byt if you want another strong example arrowvese, White Canary

I'm sorry, but how are lesbians not appropriate for kids?! If anything, Mon-El banging Ms. Tessmacher is more grown up material, and we're talking about a show where people die left and right in gruesome ways, but two girls kissing is too much?
Don't you think that perhaps kids who are gay (or might be so inclined) might benefit from watching a show dealing with accepting one's own sexuality? News flash, people can discover their sexuality pretty early on, and those who are ostracised for being gay have a VERY rough time, to the point of living in denial and suffering for years, if not for life. But no, let's prohibit Supergirl because how DARE they show a real issue?
I mean, look, any parent has the right to raise their children the way they believe best, but when one takes measures that imply homosexuality is WRONG and should not be watched, that is not a nice message, be it for their own sakes or those they know who might be.
And no, i don't mean to be preachy, but i have lots of gay friends who had a really difficult youth due to bullying or having close-minded parents who would torment them for being who they are, and that pretty much starts when we reject a mere tv show for it. -

I don't care about what kids watch, I was explaining it's the garbage CW Executives get off on. Take it up with the original poster not me, I don't care if kids watch Ash vs the Evil Dead or like material

Don't want to be preachy either but there is this book that many religions are based on
and it says that being gay is wrong.
I didn't write the book so don't shoot the messenger
Alot of the stories in this book also states that murder and violence
is usually less worst than sex in many ways..
I could go into details but either you already know
or you don't want to know.
But even if that book didn't exist, there are millions of people
with different ideas so there's no way that everybody will agree
that having gay characters in a series like this is a good idea. -

If you're referencing the Bible- it also states many many nonsensical "rules" that are broken on the daily now-a-days. Can't pick and choose what people will follow and what people won't follow!
Check out Leviticus- it's chock full of rules. Since I don't know your gender, I will just throw out a generic, blanket statement that I bet it's safe to assumed that either you (if a man) or someone you're dating or are married too (if you're a woman) or even a son or father have broken the rules about not cutting the side of the hair, or clip off the edges of the beard- both are not allowed. Do you wear clothing woven of two kinds of material- BAD! Do you or anyone you know or love have tattoos, because that's also a NO NO. disgrace and you preach to them about it, right? And lying- I bet you and the people you love never lie because that book says it's wrong. Eat crabs or other shellfish- EH, BAD. Do you shop or go to restaurants on Sundays because those people working are breaking the RULES. exactly stated in the same passing context as man shall not lie with another man as he does with a woman. I see no one preaching about THAT except for Chik Fil A. The Bible isn't FULL of anti-gay statements. It has just a few, same as all the rest of the nonsense I mentioned above. Don't touch a pig's skin, sorry football players- you're breaking the rules. So preach on. pick and choose your rules. Gay= bad. But everything else that the Bibles states is "wrong" is just fine and a-ok.
