Jesus Christ, I just explained it two times for you. The last one was a bit bigger explanation why I could not care less about their romance plots. And soapy romance plots, which are depicted in the series, is Santa Barbara to me. What's so hard to understand, really?
How would I know? Oh, I don't know, maybe because I watch the show and pay attention to its structure? Plus, it kind of helps when your job is to subtitle the show.

I'm curious how much time has actually passed in this season. People are talking about her just meeting Mon-El but it might have been awhile. The first couple episodes take place immediately following the season 1 finale, and Kara started showing feelings towards Mon-El at Thanskgiving. So if the season finale is supposed to take place around May when it aired then it has been months that she has known and interacted with Mon-El and been seperated from Jimmy. Though doesn't seem like it ha been that long in show but it's possible.

I can buy her being attracted to Mon-El, I am simply flabbergasted that she was in love with James for a year and vice versa and she dumped him the day she starts dating him. He took it very well.

No, it wasn't the day she starts dating him. Which even if it was, it was a date. Not several. They got together at the end of season 1, right? They kissed. They had a date, then some supergirl stuff came up. She said she wanted it to happen, but then at the end, she said that she didn't know. But from the season 1 finale to the end of episode 1 of season two is not a day. It's a few days, a week or two. That's what it usually is. Look at Kara going to wear and what she wears and what happens. It's clearly at least a few days.

Season Two changed considerably with the move. Jimmy's new role as her superior wasn't what they were looking at when they were looking at a romance between the two.

I doubt the two situations are related. She's not even her immediate supervisor nor do they interact much at work. They pushed James aside so she could be paired with the CW Metrosexual of the Month, Mon-El.

Nah. The change coincided with it, but it's more than that. CW tropes would have no singular lasting relationship, if that was the driver.
As for their not interacting much at work, that's my point. If they did, it would have place to play out.
Notably, no one is complaining that Snapper Carr is not like the comics version, despite the character having
nothing
in common with the original. Jimmy's still in publishing. Wonder what the difference is?

She would be a hypocrite if she told Jimmy that she didn't want to be with him, then got mad if he got with someone else. What she
did do
was tell him when they finally got together that she couldn't be with him because she pretty much had to figure out who she was and what she wanted, and that being in a relationship with him right now really wasn't it. She was not obligated to date him if she realized that it wasn't for her. That doesn't officially close the door on something in the future, but they are both absolutely free to see other people without recriminations.
She doesn't want to get with Mon-El right now, she is quite confused by what's going on. She appears to be attracted to him in a somewhat different way than Jimmy, which may pan out or not (probably dependent on Mon-El's real backstory). It probably never would have even crossed her mind that he was attractive if not for her mother bringing up his possible interest in her. -

Okay but then once she figures out she is and what she wants, and wants to be in a relationship, Jimmy is up, not Mon-El. -

the show made that absolutely clear by showing him all "nobody in the room but her is important" in a few scenes. she had those as well. -

How do you do know that she doesn't want to get with him? She is attracted to him, and that was before she even said something. Of course she would notice that he's attractive. In episode 7, she was smiling at him and looking at him like something. In episode 5, she finds him with Eve, I don't think it was just that situation. I think it was because she liked him. Then he asks her to dance, they both laugh and seem pretty happy. When her mom did say something, she seemed pretty happy. A normal reaction as girl having a crush on someone and then finding out that they like you. She didn't believe it. She might not have known even though it was pretty obvious to us. She might not have known that he was interested, or couldn't believe it, or both. Maybe for some reason she can't believe that he would like her because he's attractive. She might think that she's nerdy or not attractive. I'm just guessing, it's usually that way. I don't know for sure how much experience Kara has, I don't think it's very much though. She mentions going to a dance, but in the pilot it seemed like she didn't have much experience. I'm not sure if she knew that Winn liked her. She mentions an online date. Not that those always mean lack of experience. It could just be a situation, but I do think that she didn't have much experience, and that is what she thought. It's pretty common, kind of cliche I guess. She is different, from another planet. She wears glasses, even if it's fake. It might be cliche, but I think that's what it is. She thought that he was hitting on her mom and she was jealous. So she liked him before her mother said something.

I meant attractive in a way that she would actually do anything abouthe's obviously very attractive in a general sense. She had genuinely seen him only as a friend, and the scene on the couch was the first time she really looked at him and saw something else.

I think she hasnt admitted to herself how she feels, she knows there is a connection, shes often cross with him when hes not living up to what she expects of him. She sounded pretty jealous when talking about him seeing other girls
She always seems happy around him, and more open to doing things than with others
I think she started to feel more for him in episode 6, when they were arguing
Then when he was trapped in episode 7 and shot, she was more worried about him than her other friends, and when they were together at the end looking at each other both started to think about each other differently, I guess part of her holds onto him being from Daxam, she seems more hung up on that than he is bothered with her being from Kyrpton
In episode 8 she was at his side the whole time he was ill, from the holding cell when she dashed in to help him, putting herself at risk, to being at his bedside most of the time, we saw her go to his side a few times before the kiss while he was asleep
I think she only started to realise she wanted to be with him after he kissed her, I found it interesting that when he stroked her face she didnt move away, and then when they kissed she looked shocked as though she had no idea she was even interested in him. After he woke she didnt seem to know if she should tell him they kissed, he had denied having feelings for her before he got sick, so she may assume he was confused and not want to open herself to being hurt
