Mon-El is super uber "up" for it, despite anything he might say out loud at this point.
the show made that absolutely clear by showing him all "nobody in the room but her is important" in a few scenes. she had those as well.
LOL, yeah, they did make that pretty obvious.

That's ridiculous. Jimmy didn't leave a stack of coins on her like the pool table at the local pub to be the next up. If somebody breaks up with you for
whatever
reason, you have zero right to be up later. And why should Jimmy wait, anyway? -

How do you do know that she doesn't want to get with him? She is attracted to him, and that was before she even said something. Of course she would notice that he's attractive. In episode 7, she was smiling at him and looking at him like something. In episode 5, she finds him with Eve, I don't think it was just that situation. I think it was because she liked him. Then he asks her to dance, they both laugh and seem pretty happy. When her mom did say something, she seemed pretty happy. A normal reaction as girl having a crush on someone and then finding out that they like you. She didn't believe it. She might not have known even though it was pretty obvious to us. She might not have known that he was interested, or couldn't believe it, or both. Maybe for some reason she can't believe that he would like her because he's attractive. She might think that she's nerdy or not attractive. I'm just guessing, it's usually that way. I don't know for sure how much experience Kara has, I don't think it's very much though. She mentions going to a dance, but in the pilot it seemed like she didn't have much experience. I'm not sure if she knew that Winn liked her. She mentions an online date. Not that those always mean lack of experience. It could just be a situation, but I do think that she didn't have much experience, and that is what she thought. It's pretty common, kind of cliche I guess. She is different, from another planet. She wears glasses, even if it's fake. It might be cliche, but I think that's what it is. She thought that he was hitting on her mom and she was jealous. So she liked him before her mother said something.

I meant attractive in a way that she would actually do anything abouthe's obviously very attractive in a general sense. She had genuinely seen him only as a friend, and the scene on the couch was the first time she really looked at him and saw something else.

I think she hasnt admitted to herself how she feels, she knows there is a connection, shes often cross with him when hes not living up to what she expects of him. She sounded pretty jealous when talking about him seeing other girls
She always seems happy around him, and more open to doing things than with others
I think she started to feel more for him in episode 6, when they were arguing
Then when he was trapped in episode 7 and shot, she was more worried about him than her other friends, and when they were together at the end looking at each other both started to think about each other differently, I guess part of her holds onto him being from Daxam, she seems more hung up on that than he is bothered with her being from Kyrpton
In episode 8 she was at his side the whole time he was ill, from the holding cell when she dashed in to help him, putting herself at risk, to being at his bedside most of the time, we saw her go to his side a few times before the kiss while he was asleep
I think she only started to realise she wanted to be with him after he kissed her, I found it interesting that when he stroked her face she didnt move away, and then when they kissed she looked shocked as though she had no idea she was even interested in him. After he woke she didnt seem to know if she should tell him they kissed, he had denied having feelings for her before he got sick, so she may assume he was confused and not want to open herself to being hurt -

Her finding herself doesn't mean that she ends up with Jimmy though. Dibs, in this case is irrelevant. It was kind of odd but it was because Kara and James don't work romantically, so it makes sense that they are friends. That's what she said, that in her heart that they are friends. It seemed strange yes to pine for a year and then get together to suddenly end it. It was the right thing to do though. And Kara can end up with whoever she wants, James, Winn, Mon-El, Adam or somebody else. Yes James liked her but that doesn't mean that Kara has to pick him. It doesn't matter if James came first, he didn't speak up when Mon-El asked if Kara was mated to somebody.

fully agree. it's just down to poor writing (so poor someone should be fired, if not several someones) how she treated james. it's out of character.
but her feelings for MonEl are obvious, the kiss was reciprocal, she is notoriously shy about admitting her feelings even to herself, and their romantic future is dependently solely on his true backstory. was he the guard OR was he the prince - and if the prince, why lie? -

I doubt she only saw him as a friend. They danced, and had drinks. If she only saw him as a friend, it's because she's not experienced. Like I said, so she didn't know. She figured that she was just a friend to him, considering he was hooking up with Eve and other girls. She might not have realized her feelings, or wasn't going to admit her feelings. I think it was not admitting her feelings.

Her selecting Mon-El over James merely demonstrates her severe lack of judgement concerning relationships:
James has consistently proven his reliability, responsibility, selflessness (most of the time), he worships her, and he is far more mature than Mon-el.
Yet, she gravitates towards the overgrown toddler who can be relied upon as much as a normal human can throw him.
Kara has the audacity to criticize Mon-El's decision-making processes (or lack of); while she goes after the 'bad boy' and she's attempting to mold him into someone she THINKS he should be, i.e. he's like a pet project.
On one hand Kara is telling Mon-El that he needs to be better, but why should he when can still get the girl by remaining to be a prick? -

He uses his SUPER-HUMAN POWERS to beat people up for loan sharks! He's a hired bully.
By the way, heroes defend and protect others who are incapable of protecting themselves-and for no other motivation than altruism.
What is Mon-El's motivation? To get the girl (i.e. Kara). -

He's a hired bully.
Preferred term is "enforcer"
He uses his SUPER-HUMAN POWERS to beat people up for loan sharks!
Loan sharks? I would use the word "hard working bussinesmans"! When you borrow money you should return them on time! It is a virtue!
for no other motivation than altruism.
What about revenge? Or trauma? Or guilt?
What is Mon-El's motivation? To get the girl
Smart move on his side, it is also quite common, plenty of men clean up their act and becomes more responsible precisly because they want to impress the girl who does not want to date a guy with no plan for himself and bad habits. -
