Yes, it infuriates me, because that tells me, that Kinberg and Singer were twiddling their fingers realizing that they didn't bring much new to the table, so they just threw in one of those "wink wink, nudge nudge" moments for the fans

I thought it was pretty funny, it was self jest, they were clearly making fun of their own movie which was the 3rd in a trilogy, tongue-in-cheek style. If that went over people's heads then so be it (
      whooosh
), they do not have to appease to the low brow.
      Return of the Jedi
is a great film, but it is widely regarded as the "worst" of the trilogy. That's nothing to get upset about, it's simply a matter of the other two movies being even more excellent. However, like
      X-Men Apocalypse
      I personally like
      Return of the Jedi
the best of all 3 movies, but it's close.

BUt the rest of the movie, eehhhh wildly uneven, just like Batman v Superman, and never really rises above mediocre to even hate

Unfortunately this joke backfired, as it could also apply to Apocalypse, the third part in the prequel trilogy.

I thought it was kinda funny. Too bad it "came true" for Apocalypse, though I guess it's hardly a trilogy.

It was more of a jab at X3, than it was at Return.
              Victims, aren't we all?

I'd say it was a jab & MOST '3's (including itself!)
I fell asleep during INCEPTION BUT I FEEL like I still saw it!

Lol it did not "infuriate" me, but I do agree the scene was random and pointless. It failed to be funny and instead just came off as clunky and interrupted the flow of the movie
