i hope Logan is a lot darker than all the X-Men movies combined. the only way a wolverine movie can really work is by having brutally exciting massacre scenes. bone chilling bloodshed and disturbing mutilations. i'm not saying the movie should go the same path Saw franchise did, nor should it be watered down to some kids friendly laughable action movie. brutal actions and bloody corpses are indeed fun to watch in a wolverine movie.

I have no idea what the OP wanted, but I want a real character driven Wolverine movie. I'm so upset with what has been done in the past and I have to agree with the OP, this looks in the same vein although perhaps more to another side. YES, Wolverine is a brutal, down and nasty fighter. He's got wicked blades coming out of his hands, he doesn't make nice with those when they're out (as if that were possible), but he THINKS. He has stealth, hearing and smell along with his heightened healing and while YES, he uses that healing to his advantage and doesn't mind taking damage and punishment while he inflicts his lethal own, he doesn't fight STUPID. He also isn't a mindless, brainless killing machine. He fought against being made into one. It's not his nature. He will fight, and viciously if he feels it calls for it, but it's not his go to move. I don't want this movie to go to the OTHER extreme.
I keep my expectations low then I can be pleasantly surprised. -

Sell the rights back to Marvel.
Please. Fox is far from perfect, though they have been getting better recently, but that would be the worst thing to happen. Old Man Logan will just be loose inspiration for "Logan", while incorporating other story lines too.

Don't hold your breath mate.
They've managed to completely screw up every Wolverine film. AND most of the X films.
Having Jackman play the pretty boy Wolverine we've had the whole time doesn't help either -

Wolverine has just been handled BADLY. Even when he went to JAPAN. OH, so SAD!
I'm doing the same! Funny that you said the same thing as my signature!
I keep my expectations low then I can be pleasantly surprised. -

I disagree, "The Wolverine" had its weaknesses, but Ihonestly found it the best character piece to come out of Marvel so far. It was a HUGE improvement over "Origins" and told a pretty good story.

Clearly you enjoyed Wolverine. Personally, I found it a massive disappointment. Wolverine was mostly stupid, the only likable Japanese characters in the movie were the two women, Viper was a two dimensional sexy villain at best
I will grant you that considering the other lone Wolverine movies out there it wasn't quite as bad, but that really doesn't say much.

Yeah you probably wanted a bunch of quips, expositions and awesome CGI.. this is the most human I have ever see FOX go with their X-Men franchise. It looks almost looks like a really deep independent film that happens to be a comic movie.. Your opinion is proof that opinions can be wrong.

"Your opinion is proof that opinions can be wrong"
How can you even begin to make that sort of statement?
The film hasn't even been released!
Your opinion is just as easily "wrong", you solipsistic idiot.
All I said was this looks like a pile of 5hit. That's my opinion of the TRAILER.
It even uses the cliched and overused "Hurt" cover by Johnny Cash.
Its also quite clear this is a repackaged "Old Man Logan".
Why on earth they feel this is a good adaptation to make is beyond me. But I guess they are just carrying on Fox's track record of completely mishandling this character.
Its even directed by Mangold again. And his past outing with Wolverine sucks too.
And also: how did you jump to the conclusion I wanted SFX and CGI??
You are commenting like you KNOW this is the most human film and ISN'T full of CGI.
Things you can't possibly know.
Get a grip.
