I think Lex Luthor was a perfect villain for BvS besides his performance. I wanted Brainiac to be the villain for JL 1 even though the set up would have been similar to MoS when Zod was signaled to Earth. I wanted Lex to signal Brainiac without realizing it.
I agree I won't want Darkseid to be the focus imin every JL film. I don't even want him to have a big background role as Thanos does be he should get some sort of background role without too many hints to him. This is why I think the Secret Society would be good for JL 2 and have Darkseid show up or hinted.
I want them to have the ability to show us the multiverse and somehow give space for Crime Syndicate. I want Brainiac to be the very first to mention the idea of traveling to another Earth. I think he is best suited for that idea. -

While I would have still kept Lex in BvS, I would have liked to see Brainiac been the main villain in the second half. Perhaps he could have been manipulating Lex, causing him to accidently give birth to his AI and using parts of Zods ship to reconstruct himself. Idk I just wanted a smarter villain and twist than Doomsday.
Unfortunately, I won't be surprised to see Darkseid in the after credits of JL. -

I think the character of Lex was the perfect villain for BvS (not necessarily his portrayal), a man's whose ego is so inflamed and challenged by the appearance of a god is great, and he was a good logical response to MoS.
Regarding Brainiac, he is either a JL villain or a superman villain, but not the correct villain for BvS, simply because I feel it would have taken away from Lex's motivations.
If Brainiac were to be used as a villain in MoS2 then they have to isolate supes from the league, send him to space.

They're saying Darkseid but it should be some of the SS members transferring to Secret Society. This would be a perfect set up after Suicide Squad 2 if it were to release before JL 2.
It seems like they're rushing Darkseid just so he can get om screen around the same year as Thanos when they can just have his full form in JL 2 and release New Gods film before his appearance in JL 3 or something -

Definitely Darkseid. In fact I have a gallery of artwork for it all planned out.

It seems like they are going to Darkseid for JL2. The real question is How are they going to setup this fight with the JL against him? Darkseid has such a vast array of powers that he could crush the Justice League at virtually any point if he really went all in and wanted to. If Snyder makes it look like a 10 minute fight and the Justice League just walking over him, it would be the most unrealistic and fraud perpetrated on comic book movies. What role will Batman have against Darkseid, unless he has some sort of
radion bullets
. Will Superman be the one getting the major screen time fighting him, and if so, will he be getting pummeled 95% of the time like he always does against him? I mean, Darkseid has one shotted Superman backhanded him, has battered WW and the rest of the League countless times. If Snyder is attached, that is what I wonder how he could handle that. The general audiences may not notice, but fans of the comics will take notice immediately.
