I'm not asking them to be paragons of virtue, angels, or anything of the sort. I just want them to use a bit more common sense. YES Ollie has a history of not giving total full disclosure, but in this case, it wasn't his choice.

It would've been easier to forgive him if Thea and Barry hadn't also known. It's one thing if nobody knew, but once the cat is out of the bag, how do you not tell your fiance she's a stepmother? I don't blame Felicity for making honesty it a dealbreaker, considering Oliver's sketchy past dealings with Laurel.

But that didn't even happen when Ollie was dating Felicity nor was he cheating on her with anyone else. Yes he had a checkered background with Laurel, but that was Oliver in a different place in his life and the Oliver of today would have slapped Oliver back then for the asinine choices he made when he was the male equivalent of what was then known as Starling City and set him straight. And once again, it's not like Ollie was given a choice and as for Barry knowing before Felicity, he knew even before Oliver.

No, I just mean that he has a sketchy romantic history. So even though he was on the level with Felicity when they were dating and treated HER well, having something like this come out is definitely kind of jarring and makes a person kind of paranoid when they know a person had a less than savory past with women. Like, it might make somebody think that the person maybe hasn't outgrown that kind of behavior like they thought. If he'd never had that past, it wouldn't be an issue.
Either way, two people already knew about the kid, so it's kind of ridiculous Oliver drew the line at Felicity when he was chatting with Thea about it. If he was going to keep Thea's knowledge a secret, he could have kept Felicity's knowledge a secret as well.

At first, I understood! She was in a relationship with him and they were about to get married, so Oliver having a kid was a big deal.
Then again look at from his point of view, it's not like he was keeping the secret of having a son from her for a year. He just found out himself that he has a son, he found out that his mother lied to him, paid the girl off to keep it a secret and on top of that the mother of the child gave him an ultimatum that if he tells anybody, he will never see his son again, it was an impossible decision.
But when the mother of the child told her that it wasn't Oliver's fault, she forced him to keep it a secret. If I remember correctly, watching that scene, I was thinking, finally, this nonsense is going to end but nope, she walked out on him after miraculously gaining the ability to walk. I don't remember much of season 4 but I remember a scene where Felicity is saying that she didn't care that Oliver had a son, she is just mad at him because he lied to him.
You see, Felicity isn't a matured girl and that is why I can't take this relationship seriously.

^That ladies and gents pretty much sums up everything wrong with Olicity's ending. Again, not an Olicity fan, I just found the ending to be bullcrap for the reasons you gave.

Actually Felicity soften after talking to the mother and there was scene with Oliver about he wanted Felicity to be part of his son's life etc everything seems to be going good. The audience is left to believe that they were gonna go back to the Loft (after williams is safe and sound) and have a normal grown up conversation like they have done in prev episodes. Buuttt. the writers cant help themselves, they had vixen and Dig of all people give oliver stupid advices about its better not to be in his sons life. Like he took their advice, but left his future wife in the dark again!!
The final straw for Felicity was when oliver yet again did not give her a heads up about sending William away till he is 18. How hard was it to tell felicity that the mom and him decided together that right now William is safer elsewhere for his protection and he is sorry how badly things turn out and they should have a convo about their future. But noooo, lets break them up in the most dumb way and act shock when people react negatively to the storyline. Morons!!!.
Its like its toooo sooon for oliver to be happy and be in stable relationship where he thrives and save the city. Happy hero cant save the city only sad, depress, and angry hero can. SMH.

agree, very selfish. And I think the boy will be very disappointed from her choices once he grows up. He has a father who wanted to have relationship with him, who is she to deny him that. He will probably be angry at his father for leaving him too.

The whole thing was just flat out silly. All Oliver had to do was say "No, I'm going to tell Felicity or I'm going to fight for visitation rights, which will be very public." Samantha's who thing was not wanting her son involved with Oliver's world, so the second her threatened that it would have shut her mouth. Sam had no leg to stand on at all.
Anywho, yes, it was all just a quick plot device to separate Olicity.
I'm so hip I have trouble seeing over my pelvis.
