Not to mention he has told her that he needs her there. It is not as if shes hanging around unwanted. I suspect heads will explode when the show returns with them living together and her being at Starlabs. With his glimpse into the future hes bound to be even more protective. I suspect posts such as the OP will just increase

Fam, I'm so damn tired of them asking this! Like STAR Labs is this sacred or holy land that no one can desecrate except for Caitlin, Cisco, and Barry. Like Iris being in the building contaminates it. Like she's just so the fvck in CAITLIN'S way that she can't get anything done. Like you need Secret Service to clear the building and vicinity before walking in. Like Cisco, Caitlin, and Barry NEVER played Operation or other games in there, but Iris, Barry's girlfriend just CAN'T be there. Was her visiting him when he was in a coma a damn problem too?

Shockingly i think you answered your own question. You do realize that labs dont just have scientist working in them. They have some thing called Media Relations, public Relations dept and whole host of other career opportunities. A lab dont just need scientist any more than hospital just has doctors and nurses. Some of you are being silly with this
A reporter has to have a firm grasp of
everything including science. Science is not gibberish there is actual logic to it. Logic that reporter who research and investigate stories need to have a grasp of so she can relay it to laypeople on the news. I do want to believe that some of you know this and are just being cheeky but i have to wonder. Pay attention to what Iris contribute she is not solving mathematical equations or writing computer languages but she does contribute and she has an inquisitive mind and ask questions when she doesnt understand something. Sheesh! Lets move from this silliness -

Nope! Its clear that you are having some trouble distinguishing the difference between a worried big sister and a reporter. So let's try this again with an example. Barry the smart science guy went to see Julian to find out how much he knows about Savitar. Julian tells him part of the story and not the most important part. Iris goes shopping for her Christmas gifts and in between shopping she did some digging and she finds out Julian was point person on an archaelogical dig that uncovered the stone. Let's imagine how she likely came to get that information. As she shopping. She mulls over what Barry tells her she doesn't really trust or like Julian since he blackmailed her boyfriend. She pulls out her cell calls Central City News and spoke to Johnny in research who owes her a favor. She ask him to find out everything he can on Julian whatever his name is and send what he finds to her cell. And she goes about her merry way and continues shopping and ding ding she gets an email of archived newspaper articles about Julians connection to the stone and the dig that led to the deaths of 5 people.
The point is:SHE WORKS FOR A NEWSPAPER. SHE HAS RESOURCES ( like an entire research department at her finger tips) SHE HAS CONNECTIONS. Barry and the others work in a lab for the most part. She works in the real world with people interacting with the community and she's is not a police officer so they trust her more than they do Joe
She brings something to the team Period. Whether its the way she looks or access to resources that's the point.
Mark my words you all keep harping on her not belonging at Starlabs and the writers are going to have Barry surprise her with her own office at Starlabs. Keep at it and you shall see -

Neither of which belong in a lab.
And also, you keep harping on Iris's reporting. WTF does that have to do with a laboratory dealing with metas? Why does she actually need to be in the laboratory? And also, is she actually reporting on all the metas that star labs is dealing with? Cite your evidence. -

Iris isn't reporting anything when she's at SL,hell I'm not even sure how she still has a job as a reporter.Iris's fans are trying to make her like a Lois Lane or a Vicki Vale or even a Jack Ryder and they keep failing miserably in there arguments.

Whether she works there or always is there is irrelevant. Anytime there is an attack on the city, somehow Iris is at Star Labs. I want to know why. What skills does she possess that require her to be at Star Labs fighting metas?
