Why does Iris work at Star Labs?

Nope! Its clear that you are having some trouble distinguishing the difference between a worried big sister and a reporter.
Neither of which belong in a lab.
And also, you keep harping on Iris's reporting. WTF does that have to do with a laboratory dealing with metas? Why does she actually need to be in the laboratory? And also, is she actually reporting on all the metas that star labs is dealing with? Cite your evidence. -

Iris isn't reporting anything when she's at SL,hell I'm not even sure how she still has a job as a reporter.Iris's fans are trying to make her like a Lois Lane or a Vicki Vale or even a Jack Ryder and they keep failing miserably in there arguments.

Whether she works there or always is there is irrelevant. Anytime there is an attack on the city, somehow Iris is at Star Labs. I want to know why. What skills does she possess that require her to be at Star Labs fighting metas?

Well, she's supposed to be a reporter at CCPN. But they rarely ever show her reporting. They'll throw fans a bone every now and then like when she found out the tidbit about Savitar, but they won't show the viewer her actually doing the work. So when she's in StarLabs, like I said, she's just there standing around not contributing anything. At the very least, show her at her own terminal doing some digging into. I don't know if she's supposed to be an "investigative" reporter, but they'll show everyone else actually doing investigative digging/legwork, while Iris is just there.

Iris has taken down more meta humans than Joe. The man has a gun and he's outshone by his daughter and her fists. Thanks for showing that Iris is more meaningful to the team than Joe.

Iris's increased presence in the Star Labs scenes this season is because the shows top executive Greg Berlanti gave the writing team the directive that they had to utilize her character more.
So the writers have basically done this by having her be present in these scenes whereas in the first two seasons she would have only been in the occasional Star Labs scene.
Too bad because she feels simply shoehorned in and has no real organic purpose. Last season they actually gave her a story-line and by not having her there all the time it actually gave the show a reason to cut away from the lab scenes from time to time.
