TV shows are not choose-your-adventure stories. No one writing this show wants Barry and Kara to get together. You're not entitled to self-insert into every love interest ever written for the screen.

Many fans do want her gone, some if not many of those would prefer Barry/Kara somehow get together.
'Olicity' shows the danger of trying to please a certain subsection of the fans. The reality is that there will always be a group of fans who are never happy with whoever the hero is involved with, even if the writers showed up at their door and asked them how they want the story to go.
Now that Barry has seen that future I think he will be able to prevent it. The only question is whether someone else will die in her place. That doesn't guarantee there won't be something that breaks them up for a season or two though. Maybe Wally or Joe dying. -
