There's no person with a pulse that could complain about Alba.
You're suffering from delusions of adequacy.

Floriana is whiter than Jessica. Jessica has around 20%-30% Native American ancestry via her Mexican ancestry. Floriana is 3/4 Italian and the rest is English, Irish, and German. Looks can be deceiving.

I should have specified that I'm talking about physical appearance.
So when are these people going to complain about so many English actors playing American roles? (Henry Cavill, Andrew Garfield, Christian Bale, etc.)
Tommy how's the peeping? -

First off, the character is white to begin with. Lima's character, both in terms of looks and personality, is much more similar to Renee Montoya than Maggie.
Second, being Latino doesn't exclude someone from being white, black or Asian. Not all Latinos are mixed 'brown' people media makes them out. If you look at US race chart, more than half of US Latinos are white. Mexicans can also be white. Most Argentinians are white.
I am actually sick and tired of this 'whitewashing' crap. As someone who is essentially a Liberal, I am barfing on all this counting blood cells of tv stars. That was once only a right-wing bull and now Liberals are doing it even more. -

Yeah, she looks a LOT more like Renee Montoya than Maggie Sawyer. Supergirl also seems to have taken out the fact that Maggie is a mother, which is a pretty important element of her character.
Unless Alpert's covered in bacon grease, I don't think Hugo can track anything. -

Maggie Sawyer is supposed to be Latina? She's usually been depicted as a blonde haired white woman. Floriana Lima is a lot LESS white looking than Maggie Sawyer has been. I assumed that she was Indian based on her looks.
I think that the bigger controversy is that Maggie in the comics has been portrayed as more butch, whereas Lima is a lot more femme and seems chosen to appeal more to the male gaze.

Yeah.I actually had to google this to see if Maggie had become another nationality/race/ethnicity in one of the 8,347 universe reboots DC has done. She's still looking very Caucasian/blonde to me.
So, you know.people are just complaining to complain. -

Latino is not a race or color, and Italians
are
latinos.
https://www.nas.org/articles/Ask_a_Scholar_What_is_the_True_Definition_of_Latino
"The word
latino
is a Spanish word that has entered the English language. In Spanish, it means someone belonging to the people of ancient Latium, in Italy, whose language was Latin; so the Romans of course were
latinos
. Another and related meaning of
latino
in Spanish refers to someone who belongs to the cultures of the
Rom
ance Languages, that is, those peoples whose language, and to a varying extent, whose culture, too, derive from the language and civilization of Rome, which was latin. Among these Romance languages are Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian. Therefore, all Italians, Frenchmen, Spaniards, Romanians, and Portuguese, as well as all those Latin Americans whose language is Spanish or Portuguese (an English-speaking person from Jamaica would not qualify) are
latinos
." -

Yeah well, U.S. still uses imperial.
Not exactly the best track record there.
