She's an unpleasant character who has no real relationship with the other characters. Her "We're a family!" and "I want to be with my sons!" shtick rings hollow. It comes across as extremely fake. Her lack of connection with any of the other characters makes her uninteresting. She also has no backstory; how could she when she's the Goddess of Creation or whatever??
Furthermore I find her character offensive. It's a modification of the ancient sexist trope of the suffocating mother mixed with the femme fatale sexist trope. In fact the notion of a Goddess of Creation is believed by many people as a positive belief or myth.
The fact that she is in the body of a 35 year old who wears slutty clothes just makes it worse. In addition to being a boring, offensive character, it's just exploitive. -

I'm am holding out hope for the character based on the writers' and Tricia's own comments.
I was never in favor of this character to begin with (thank you Fox) for lots of reasons, partly because my concerns were that she'd be the character you are describing, and also because her creation had the potential for seriously screwing with canon, a trap which the writers fell right into right away, starting with their "big bang". And it only went downhill from there, changing the birth order, taking Lucifer's "light bringer" powers away from him and the very purpose of his existence, not to mention his status as the second most powerful being in the DC Universe. Almost unforgivable, really, to screw with an iconic character that much simply to create a new, lesser character.
But like I said, I still have hope for the Mom character. One, because the showrunner assured Tricia that the character would be complex, and not "arch" which was her main concern. And two, because the showrunner has also said that all the characters are the heroes of their own stories, meaning there are no truly evil or truly perfect characters. They all have many shades of gray, and the room to rise or fall, depending on the story.

NO WAY i love her inclusion and what she's bringing and if you can see what she's bringing then you don't understand subtle story telling. they are building this story up. you know this. this isn't the first Tv show you've watched. you don't need your hand held. be patient. who the hell wants everything ni a rush?

iabonon, I received email notification that you had replied to my post, so I came to check it out and yes, you replied to my post. Didn't know I was supposed to read everyone else's response too. So if that makes me incapable, then okay.

I realize they are building some sort of story up, but I can't see this going well. Mum isn't going to develop a relationship with her sons if it hasn't happened in the previous millenia. She hates Chloe and Maze. So what's up for hera rekindling of her romance with God? Will we see flashbacks of the two of them on their first date? You see this is a problem when you create a character like this. So far it looks like she will stay in the role of two-dimensional baddie; I find that boring; maybe some of you find that interesting. Characters are only interesting if they are complex and have both faults and virtues.

I take that to be intentional because she's manipulating her sons because of her own agenda. What I find interesting is her motives/agenda and the way other characters react to her.
She also has no backstory;
IMO she does have a back story we've only gotten small hints at it.
how could she when she's the Goddess of Creation or whatever??
Same as any character, if they give her a backstory she has one. Just like Lucifer's backstory is sometimes different than what some people believe about the devil hers can be different than what some believe about the Goddess of Creation.
