She defeats the Dominators by getting drunk and then being belligerent to them about what it's like to be GAY and how her life has changed and how she's in LOVE with this woman Maggie
and they leave, they literally couldn't have gotten out of there fast enough!

I heard somewhere there was a cut scene in the finale where Sara invites Kara out for a drink. She sees what's up and declines but tells her, she should meet her sister.

I heard that too, but differently.
That Sara, the sneaky assassin that she is. Requested that Gideon make some rainbow colored kryptonite.
So when she asked Kara out, the effect of kryptionite made her temporarily gay. So they did have that drink and more Oh and then Alex did then have the next date with Sara because that's how she rolls!
