I really feel for Barry

I mean, he is indirectly responsible for the death of Cisco's brother, gave Caitlin superpowers that will eventually turn her evil, erased Diggle's daughter from existence and that is just the people close to him. Who knows how much more damage he did to the world.
So yeah - even if he is sorry - they have a right to be pissed. -

There is no way to know whether he really is responsible for Caitlin's powers, remember that Alchemy never got to her and she still got them. Diggle's daughter was replaced by a son, so, same difference. But ye, the issue with Dante's death, that's all on Barry.

I have to disagree it is hard for me to look at Barry as anything other than a villain. Name any other Bad guy on any of these shows that has used such power so recklessly and with so little regard for the entire human race. He literally decided that nobody on earth was more important than him. It was selfish and cruel.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's just I'm seeing a good guy trying to do good things and yet, messing up with no intent to hurt and he's feeling really bad about it, after trying to repair his mistakes by letting again his mother die in front of him. That is a bit 'painful' to witness.

Agreed.

I might have been misinterpreted. I agree with all that. I'm just saying I feel sorry for the guy because he knows he beep things up and as a novice, he didn't imagine it would cause this. I'm just analysing from the character's perspective.

His friends didn't seem to think that back in season one.

i normally am one to easily forgive someone (in real life and on tv shows/movies) but i feel little to no sympathy for Barry. it's not like he didn't have many examples to see that his going back and changing any history would/could be devastating. he was even told/shown that in that flash plane world (i forget the name of it) where he was directly speaking with the energy force (as his mother) and yet he selfishly still chose to do so. Sara brought up a good point, she (from what i'm guessing, i don't watch LEGENDS) has never F'd with past events in trying to bring Laurel back. that's commendable of her. Barry just constantly keeps doing selfish things that have made sympathizing with him nearly impossible.
that being said, i DO like that at least now Barry is showing remorse/trying to do the right thing. i can see myself liking him again at some point.
regarding Tom C. i didn't realize people were hating on him/his character. i don't frequent this board but people loved him in seasons 1 & 2. i actually like him a lot this season. -

Very first episode of the season had her going off book to try and kill Dahrk, which Oliver knows about because Mick told him, she also in the episode before last told Dahrk of the exact turn of events which lead to him dying there for ensuring they don't turn out as intended, just so she could gloat that he may kill her sister but doing so results in his wife dying, his plan failing and him dying as an entire city rallied against him.
So yeah Sara is full of crap and a humungous moron who did far worse than Barry and just so she could screw with Dahrk's head. -

Technically she's never gone back in time to save Laurel, so I guess you could argue she didn't lie to Barry. Of course, twice now she tried to kill Damien Darhk DECADES before he's meant to die, which would not only stop Laurel's death but erase pretty much all of the events of Season 4, not to mention a whole ton of other stuff most likely.
The Legends in general are devoid of any credibility on this matter, given that any one of them is guilty of doing ridiculous crap that alters the timeline. -

Well didn't Jax do almost the exact same thing last season? the episode with the pilgrim or whatever that stupid chick was called, Jax warned hs dad about the exact time and nature of his death with the hopes of saving him, and no one blamed Jax for anything if anything Stein told him it was ok that he did it.

I feel bad for Barry as I know he's just a dumb kid who seems unable to learn his lessons, but I gotta say the writing for his character seems to try to put a damper on any sympathy. He screws up on cosmic levels so often that eventually he's gotta run out of second chances.
That being said, I'm not fond of this storyline only because I'm not fond of superheroic characters getting dumped on. It's not so much that Barry doesn't deserve it as it is that I don't really want to sit through a dragged out angle where every week is about letting us know how big of a douchebag Barry is for changing the timeline. I can't imagine why the writers would think it makes for good televisions for almost everyone Barry knows to outright despise him on a weekly basis. Superhero angst isn't my thing: it's why Smallville doesn't hold up well for me on rewatch.
As a side note, some of the people giving Barry the business really shouldn't be doing it. If Oliver lectured him, I could buy it. If Stein (who's generally one of the more conscientious Legends) did, sure. But Sara's twice now tried to kill Damien Darhk in order to save Laurel, and Cisco's original angst with Barry this season was about being pissed that he wouldn't run back in time to stop someone from dying. I mean he deserves to be pissed, but it's a little hypocritical all the same.
