Being a fighter pilot and a drone pilot are two different things. When you're grounded, that's it, no more missions. Drone missions aren't an exception.

Zack Snyder has more sense than to make Hal Jordan a drone pilot.
Kind of how he made Jimmy Olsen an undercover CIA agent that was shot in the face after 30 seconds? Or Batman a murderer? Or casting Eisenberg as Lex? Face it, Snyder has no idea how to handle these characters and that's a fact. The man scoffs at Superman's ice breath, I'm sure he throws intergalactic space cop that imagines stuff out of thin air in the same category.

        Which is why
        Geoff Johns
is now in charge of the entire DCEU,
        Zack Snyder
has to go through John's to get any kind of approval.

He was a CIA operative, he was not Jimmy Olsen, he just used his credentials to infiltrate the meeting. Batman has killed in all his movies. Jesse was surprisingly great as Lex, I look forward to seeing where he goes from here. That's not a fact, that's just your subjective opinion. Zack Snyder doesn't "scoff" at his ice breath. A heavily visualized character like Green Lantern would be right up Zack Snyder's alley.

Snyder confirmed it was Olsen. It happened to set the tone for his universe that "anything can happen." He can't backtrack due to fan backlash or however you got that idea.
I don't recall him ever being portrayed as a straight murderer.
You're right, it is subjective and it was one of the worst cast roles I've seen, comic book film or otherwise. Eisenberg is 100% miscast. Rosenbaum, Brown, Spacey, Hackman We could have had Bryan Cranston and we get Jesse beep Eisenberg?
Snyder is on record saying that powers like ice breath are silly and won't show up in his universe.
Ok, I'll give you Green Lantern, he'll do wonderful with the visuals but he'd still likely beep the bed with the character.

Snyder confirmed that the name Jimmy Olsen was used, that's it. It's made abundantly clear in the UC that he was not the real Jimmy Olsen. It was a clandestine CIA operation to infiltrate the terrorist leader's compound. The CIA used Jimmy's credentials and sent in one of their own men. Smallville played a similar trick with Jimmy Olsen as well.
Neither do I, but people still died at all of their hands. No, that's wrong actually. The Tim Burton Batman straight up murdered The Joker in cold blood. The Nolan and Snyder versions of Batman at least had some moral ambiguity to their actions.
You can keep Bryan Cranston, boring. I like Jesse, and I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses in the DCCU. Jesse was straight out of the pages of Superman: Birthright. You obviously don't like that depiction of Lex, but I do. I'm just glad we didn't get another old real estate swindler.
it was one of the worst cast roles I've seen, comic book film or otherwise.
Nothing but ridiculous hyperbole. Tone it down.
Snyder is not on record saying that, he only said that his ice breath powers haven't appeared, yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see his ice breath appear in JL tbh. Something between Aquaman and Superman will reveal that particular power to Superman, and don't forget that his freeze breath was the last power that Kal El acquired in Smallville as well. That's the second Smallville similarity already.
I see no reason to jump to that conclusion.

He isn't, the dude was just trying to get his 15 minutes. They'll go with a name people know for Green Lantern.

GL needs either a critically respected actor or a popular actor. Amboyer is a complete unknown, not even up and coming, someone like Skarsgrd as Hal would make sense, maybe team him up with a Sterling K. Brown as Stewart. Both good and liked actors.

I heard about that before seeing the movie and when I did see both the Theatrical and Extended Cut, still didn't see him.

He's in the African desert sequence, he's the guy, fairly young, controlling the drone.

So he was just a background character.
