Removing Amaya From The Past Should Have Had A Massive Effect On History

Like someone else on here already posted, for all we know they will just take Vixen back to the point where she left, or maybe even a few moments before Rex Tyler is killed.
What doesn't make sense to me, and is somewhat related, is why they didn't all just travel back a little while before Rex is killed. Then they could be waiting, hiding and watching ready to attack whoever comes to kill Rex.
They cover this very briefly when Sara tells Vixen they can't go back to save Rex because the time traveller will just travel back a little further and kill Rex again, which sounds logical for a moment, till you think about it.
They are going to spend this entire season trying to find the time traveler (Thawne), except they already know exactly when and where he will be (in the JSA headquarters killing Rex), so they could just go back before the incident and plan an ambush even a speedster couldn't escape.
Of course this would involve any one of the characters in the show having the most basic common sense or to think about something for over a second rather than just reacting and fly by the seat of their pants real role models these idiots are.
So many of their issues could be resolved if they would stop and think for one minute, and, supposedly, two of the members are "geniuses" yet one of those geniuses didn't even think to put in any safety measures or biometric security on their billion dollar atom suit you know, just in case if some random were to knock him out and steal his suit, which I believe has already happened over a dozen times on this show anyway I am just ranting now it's just such lazy writing. -

They could at least give it a try, they defeated Pilgrim when she had them all, they defeated Savage that couldn't even die but they managed to kill him in 3 different time lines, I think they could handle Reverse Flash if they go back in time before he kills Rex.
So go on. Kiss me. Kill me. Do something. -

Now that the team knows they are dealing with a speedster, the reasoning is that it is going to take a speedster to stop one. So now they need to convince the only one they know (Barry) to go back with them to the moment RF enters the room to kill Rex.
As for how it affects Vixen, the problem here is the question of whom present day Vixen's grandfather is hasn't been answered. Is it Rex Tyler? If so, then the team needs to save him. If not, then they could still save him, but there is less urgency in terms of how it affects the timeline. In fact, you could argue that it is meant to be that Rex dies that day and Amaya meets and has children with someone else.
Someone really needs to figure out present day Vixen's family tree and shed some light on this. Both halves of Firestorm and Ray Palmer has met Vixen in her animated show, so that can be established.
She did fight Arrow Season 4 Damien Darhk, so 1987 Darhk or 1942 Darhk would have no idea who Mari/Vixen is.
Here is Mari/Vixen with Firestorm and Flash fighting Weather Wizard:

Definitely on the history of the Arrow-verse.
There should be no Vixen in the present, since Amaya wasn't there in 1942 to eventually have children (leading to her granddaughter).
It's amusing how Barry's post-Flastpoint led to such shifts in the timeline, just by saving his mom, then killing her again.
Yet, the 'Legends' screw up time in huge ways every week and the timeline seems to be fine.
It blows my mind that they are okay with keeping someone from the past on their crew, and not concerned with how that could eff up history, especially since she's JSA.
I agree with you 100%. I started off liking this show, but the further the show goes on the more confusing the whole time travel thing gets, and the more holes there seem to form in the story. You would think a lot of the stuff happening in this show (especially in season 2) would have a massive impact on Arrow and The Flash. But for some reason it seems like nothing that happens in this show has any affect on Arrow or The Flash. Which just seems weird. I mean, all the stuff happening with Damien Darkh alone should already change everything that happened in season 4 of Arrow. Shouldn't it?
And I'm sorry, but someone really needs to reel in this team of Legends, because they actually cause more problems to the timeline(s) than the badguys they are chasing. The Legends team is undisciplined, uncoordinated, and frankly dangerous. I honestly find it disturbing that history itself is in the hands of these "Legends". By the time they're done the only future that will be left will be a smoldering crater that was once called Earth.
Where are the Time Wraiths now? Why aren't they hunting down the Legends for screwing up the history of the planet? -

unless of course this arc ends with them giving her a lift back to 1942 then nothing will have been changed despite her being removed from 1942 temporarily
so if the logic on this show is to be upheld (sadly it hardly ever is lol), then the fact that things havent changed on Arrow is because she survives season 2 of LOT and is then placed back safely in 1942 -

I'm looking forward to seeing Jefferson and Martin look at each other when Sarah announces in a meeting that the time traveler they've been after is a speedster , as they likely already have more information about it from the hidden message to Rex they found from Barry

The killing of Hourman was by a time traveller. Effectively, it could be seen as the aberration being fixed. Vixen supposedly joined to find his killer and could return after.
If you look at the aberration in the Old West, the villain had time to mine extensively, refine an unknown ore, somehow profit on it, and establish a huge fiefdom. There's no clear timeline on how fast aberrations need to be dealt with.
All roads lead to truth if you're willing to travel honestly.
