Yes I have, and to be honest, Klaus and that sexy accent of his are the only real reason I watch the show. The plots drive me crazy about 70% of the time. lol. Some great actors on that show, though.
I knew you were kidding about Brits, it just made me laugh.

I'm not a fan of Vampire diaries but I did fast forward through the episodes to watch the bits with the Originals.
I loved The Originals during the first season. I still watch the show (when it will air anyway) but my interest has somewhat vanished. I don't re-watch episodes. But Klaus' accent and Marcel's hotness will have me back whenever the 4th season airs. 😄
I guess since Lucifer, I've lost taste for the other shows.
I am enjoying Speechless at the moment, but not to the point of re-re-re-re-watching episodes.

Oh, how could I forget Marcel? LOVE him! Yeah, same reason I watch. Also, what's her name, the werewolf woman is gorgeous too, a lot of pretty people, but for me it's all about Klaus and Marcel. 🙂
They've had a lot of characters though that I really didn't like. Davina, and that one actress who played mom after the first mom died, I've never liked her in anything I've seen her in, too hardass. And it took a long time for me to warm up to the psychologist. I was finally really liking her and they killed her. sheesh. Also her friend the ex-psychologist-witch-vampire-witch. That's what drives me crazy about that show. I liked it in the beginning but now, people can just change what they are on a dime, swap bodies, change what they are. They always make up new rules and can get anyone out of any death because of all the witchcraft stuff, but then suddenly for some reason someone dies and that person is dead. Makes no sense. The story continuity, or lack of it, in that show drives me absolutely crazy.

I didn't like the crazy mom either.
She was nothing like the original mother, all crazy and over the top whereas the original mom was calm and controlled.
How the actress got the part is beyond me.
Yes whenever there is witchcraft you can always invent a spell to do whatever is needed storywise.
Also, I'm not a fan of werewolves.
I think the show wouldn't have lasted this long if it wasn't for Klaus.

Why do Americans always whinge about foreign accents? Why wouldn't he? Why would he have an American accent? He's The Devil. He can have whatever accent he damn well likes and Tom's is perfect.

I don't know who you've been talking to. Women here love British accents. Australian accents as well. Even Tom said he discovered pretty quickly that American women REALLY like a British accent.
I wish I could do one. I've tried using those videos and I suck so bad.

British accent of any kind typically makes me smile, as does a true southern gentleman accent. I was constantly grinning like an idiot when we visited Alabama. Couldn't help it. Just charming.
I recall reading that grammatically the southern accent is more closely in line with a British accent than anywhere else in America. So maybe there's something to it.

As a Southerner, I can confirm that non-Southern women seem to like the Southern drawl, at least to my experience. Though, as you said, they like the Southern gent accent, more subtle and slow, rather than the outright redneck twang that many have. Thankfully mine is the former. 😛
I thought I was wrong once. It turned out I was mistaken

Centrd I don't mean Americans don't love British accents I mean every time there's a Brit or Aussie in an American Tv/film role some one ALWAYS pipes up and says 'why does this character have a non American accent' like it's offensive to them or something. I mean we're talking one character and the rest are all American.
Learning accents takes practice and some times a professional.

Well as it happens I am not American at all.
Don't be negative and assume someone is "offended" just for asking a question.
Perhaps it is you who are offended, just a thought. 😄
Also, all of us here are saying British accents are hot. That's where my question comes from. 😉

I love all of them really lol, but my favourite is the southern accents like Louisiana and Texan accents. Lovely relaxed drawl.

Texas is referred to as a "Texas Twang".
Not sure about Louisiana, they have a classic southern drawl but there is also Cajun which is completely something else and is French based. I have a cousin that married a gal from the Louisiana Bayou country that spoke only French until she stated school. Not that uncommon there.

English accent sounds a lot cooler in divine or mythical characters. Gandalf would sound like Balthazar from The Sorcerer's Apprentice in an American accent. But I get your point, at times that annoyed me too. Since they are butchering the source material, I just watch it as a CSI show, with some celestial detectives.

I think it's because certain British accents have a natural authority and charm to them (depending on who is speaking of course).
And since Hollywood has often cast great British actors as villains since the invention of celluloid, using a voice that would normally be associated with a "bad guy" would make sense. Lucifer is meant to be the ultimate villain (at least that is the general perception), and therefore using someone with a British accent which many people associate with the "bad guy" makes it easier to accept that he is Lucifer..possibly?
Also irony and sarcasm somehow seem a little softer and easier to take from someone whose accent makes them sound like they are normally patronising or condescending to everyone anyway. 🙂
Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm a man of wealth and taste

Tom Ellis said in an interview that they tried the character with an american accent but he sounded too dickish. As a joke, he said that you can say whatever you want with a british accent and still sound charming.
