I don't think that's going to be the case in this show. Her story has been changed, as have other major characters. The reason she's supposed to know about Bruce is because she was a colleague of his fathers. In Gotham, she has no previous connection to the Wayne family. The more I think about it, Thomas himself didn't even seem to be a doctor. I've never once heard him referred to as " Dr. Wayne ".
