Yup. Kinda makes you think why they decided to back her up, doesn't it?
Any one of us could beat Trump with the backing of the Democratic Party. Well, maybe not

Silly Hillary, Trix are for kids. Couldnt win the democratic nomination against Obama back then. You're not going to win with the whole of America involved

What actually worries me is that the Republicans seem to be getting Senate, House, and Presidency. That's too much power, no checks and balances.

Don't worry, once they have the cheese they will start fighting among each other. No "full control" democracy lasted for more than 6 months.
Besides, the civil control is not everything. The military generals have a lot of swing and influence, so they are being kept in check. -

No one should have that much power, never mind an a-hole like Trump. It's why in Australia and the UK we have a seperation of power that keeps our Politicans in check, and our Courts are Independent - who have been known to throw out laws made by Aussie politicans that are illegal.

This is a standard Democratic whine. You've been conned, Lith; don't fall for it.
No one on the dem side cries when the President is Democratic, the House is Democratic, and the Senate is Democratic. No sigh of relief that "Whew, bills might have gotten passed too easily! No checks or balances!" Rather, they cheer that "now we can get things done our way."
But switch the three units to the Republican side, and listen to the weeping and wailing! They moan and groan over the Republicans' "excess of power" and try to scare the electorate into fearing that laws might get passed too easily.
Some will reassure us, "Well sure, both sides do that, what do you expect?" but I have never heard one single repub comment that could be regarded as analogous. They're not competent enough to think this way. But that's what you'd expect from The Party That Tried to Destroy Its Own Nominee.Because supporting your thesis is tough, but throwing adjectives is easy. -

Snort
What makes you think I'd be a Democrat if I was a US citizen, or that I believe what either party has to say? I am simply concerned when all, or most, wings of a government fall under the control of a single party, regardless of which one it is.
That said, after posting this, I did some research and realised Trump will get plenty of opposition from the Republican side (perhaps too much, in some cases), so it all works out in the end.

Not really. The Democrats had the presidency, the house and the senate in the 111th Congress.
They didn't manage to blow us up or anything.

Nothing ever really changes in Washington, no matter who's in power.
Gore Vidal said it best, 'There is only one party in the United States, the Property Party and it has two right wings: Republican and Democrat.'

Looks sanity and common sense was the loser, as well as our wealth. Australia and Asian markets have dropped sharply already. Wait until the US wakes up tomorrow, they are going to have a long headache to overcome.
Let's hope they impeach Trump and he is kicked out.Arrow Time of death 11:59
