It can't be lead since he would have been exposed by now considering how common it is.

Lead. I wonder if Mon-EL would be used as a way to bring the Legion of Superheroes on the show in the future? In the comics, Superboy sends Mon-El to the Phantom Zone until such a time a cure for his ailment is found.

his weakness is that he gives off hidden chemicals that make Kryptonians think it's perfectly acceptable to dress him up and 'take him to work' without first giving him basic lessons on human behavior, life on earth, things like telephones, etc. Especially if the whole idea is for him to fit in and not get noticed.

and call him his real name in public loudly rather than call him Mike
talk about Daxam loudly around the girl who fancies him
and make it painfully clear hes not human by the fact he has zero idea how anything works -

And it's like, he's not a human , but he's not supposed to be an idiot. He's able to communicate with everyone, he's shown not to be some kind of dullard, so he knows damn well that he's supposed to be 'hidden' and blending in , yet after being informed that he doesn't have to read off his social , he blurts out 'fake' as if he wasn't all there, as if he didn't know that would hurt him blending in. That seems more akin to a mistake a child in an adult's body would make , not a fully grown educated alien from an advanced species.
Maybe that's also his weakness, he's not just unfamiliar with earth customs but he's also a clueless sac about blending in. -

But Kara was as bad as him, calling him Mon-el which he corrected to Mike, talking about their home planets and powers loudly, calling him Mon-el to Jimmy, rather than talking to him privately opted to tell him off in the hallway, and telling him its her way or no way
